1. Start#

Hailey Bieber's summer wardrobe turns up on mood boards every year once the heat arrives, and it's easy to see why: most of it is basics anyone can buy, worn in proportions that make them look deliberate. Through summer 2025, between New York sidewalks and a Mallorca getaway, the Rhode founder kept coming back to the same pieces: capri pants, micro shorts, oversized blazers, polka dots and thong flip-flops. On errands in Los Angeles or front row at a show, her mix of relaxed shapes and one or two polished details stays the same. I've broken 35 of her looks down into formulas you can rebuild, with the fit note I'd give anyone copying each one.
1. White Tank Top With Baggy Jeans and Flip Flops

Her most repeated formula is also her plainest. In Los Angeles she wore a white racerback tank tucked into loose, low-rise indigo jeans, with black leather flip flops, a black woven shoulder bag, slim oval sunglasses and small gold hoops. Every piece is basic; the proportion does the work, with a fitted top against slouchy denim. When I rebuild this, I start with the tank. It should be ribbed and opaque enough to skip a camisole, and long enough to stay tucked into a low rise when you reach for something.
2. Black Leather Jacket Over White Crop Top and Low-Rise Jeans

Even in summer she makes room for leather. Here a cropped black leather jacket sat over a white tank that skimmed the midriff, with the same loose low-rise jeans, silver rings, hoops and flat black flip flops. The trick in heat is thin, soft leather, almost shirt-weight, with nothing extra underneath. A heavy biker jacket at that temperature will have you carrying it by the second block. Save this for a breezy evening or a rooftop once the sun's gone.
3. Red Lace Halter Top With Light-Wash Jeans

This one leaned prairie with an edge: a bright red lace halter cropped just above the waist, with a plunging neckline and a ribbon tie at the center, worn with classic light-wash jeans and a gold nameplate necklace. Sturdy denim keeps the lace from looking precious. Lace halters need checking from the side before you buy. If the tie has to be pulled tight to stay up, it'll dig into the back of your neck within an hour, so I look for one with a wider strap or a back closure. It suits picnics and daytime dates.
4. Polka Dot Capri Pants With Black Sleeveless Top

Capris are a divisive length, and she made them look new. Her white capri pants carried an oversized black polka dot from Paloma Wool, worn with a plain black sleeveless top so the print had the floor, plus square-toed thong sandals, a small square handbag, a thin gold watch and oval sunglasses. One bold piece with plain basics is the whole lesson. Capri length is fussy, though. I want the hem just below the knee or at the slimmer part of the lower leg, never across the widest point of the calf, which makes most legs look shorter.
5. Oversized Cream Linen Blazer With Micro Shorts and Loafers

Late summer is when she reaches for linen. An oversized cream linen blazer was the main piece, over a simple top with micro shorts, black loafers, slim sunglasses and a little gold jewelry. The loafers add a preppy weight that balances the short hem. Linen creases the moment you sit down, and with this outfit that's fine. My one check is that the blazer falls just past the hem of the shorts, so the proportion reads as a choice. It's a brunch and shopping outfit.
6. Emerald Green Strapless Mini Dress With Satin Sandals

For evenings she lets a single color carry everything. In New York City she wore an emerald satin strapless mini that fit closely and caught the light, with satin peep-toe sandals from Saint Laurent to lengthen the leg. Hair and makeup stayed natural so the dress did all the talking. Strapless satin is unforgiving. It needs boning or a silicone grip strip at the top edge, and I always test it by raising both arms; if it slips once, it'll slip all night.
7. Black Capri Pants With Scoop-Back Knit Tee and Flip-Flop Heels

An all-black summer outfit can feel heavy, and this one doesn't. She wore her usual black capri trousers ending just below the knee with a cropped black knit tee that looked like a plain boatneck from the front and opened into a scooped back, a nod to her ballet background. Thong kitten heels lifted it for evening without losing the summer ease. That open back means bra choice matters, so I'd try a low-back style or adhesive cups before committing. Small details like the back and the shoe carry the whole look.
8. Oversized Leather Bomber Jacket With White Tee and Mesh Gym Shorts

This is her at her most experimental. A black oversized leather bomber went over a white tee, and instead of jeans she wore mesh athletic gym shorts, then a simple heeled sandal to pull it away from the gym. Heavy leather against light mesh is the tension that makes it interesting. I'd only try it with mesh shorts that have a built-in liner, because unlined mesh shows more than you think in daylight. Casual dinners and evening walks suit it.
9. Black Fishnet Cardigan Over White Tee and Levi's Jeans

She added a dramatic layer to a casual base. Over a plain white undershirt and classic blue Levi's she wore a cropped, see-through black fishnet cardigan trimmed in fur, which gave the outfit the feel of an old starlet's dressing robe. Oval sunglasses, a gold watch and hoops finished it, with her hair up in a bun so the earrings showed. Open-knit cardigans snag on watch clasps and rings, so I put the watch on the other wrist or slip the cardigan on last.
10. Yellow Satin Hot Pants With Copper Track Jacket

At the YSL show in Paris she wore one of the season's most talked-about looks: butter-yellow satin hot pants with lace trim, paired with a copper track jacket. The windbreaker undercuts the dressiness of the satin, and skinny cat-eye sunglasses kept the rest quiet. It's a lesson in building around one statement piece. Satin hot pants show every crease after a car ride, so I'd steam them right before leaving and stand for photos if you can.
11. Gray Trench Coat Worn as a Mini Dress

This one pushes summer dressing furthest. She wore an ultra-boxy gray trench with a thigh-grazing hem as a dress, no pants, with strong lapels and a belted waist that gave it shape. Simple accessories left the coat to speak for itself. If you try it, the belt is non-negotiable, and so is a sit test in front of a mirror, since a trench has a front opening that a dress doesn't. Bike shorts underneath are a sensible backup. It suits late-summer days and travel.
12. White Polka-Dot Mini Dress With Leather Flip Flops

For a summer weekend she wore a white De La Vali mini scattered with red polka dots, in silk chiffon with a sheer top layer over an opaque slip, an off-the-shoulder neckline, a rosette on one shoulder and ties at the back. Black leather thong sandals, her usual summer shoe, kept it from looking fussy. Silk chiffon water-marks easily and frays if snagged, so I'd keep drinks at arm's length and steam it rather than iron it. It's playful and pretty with very little styling.
13. Black Satin Tube Top With Light-Wash Bermuda Shorts

Texture does the work here. A sleek black satin tube top went with light-wash Bermuda shorts ending just above the knee, one leg freshly cut and the other frayed. Smooth fabric against rough denim gives interest without any print. Gold jewelry, slim sunglasses and flat sandals finish it. A tube top has to grip, so I check for silicone tape or a firm elastic band inside before trusting one on a hot city day.
14. Deep Blue Plunging Blazer Suit With Capri Pants

She took summer suiting somewhere new. A deep blue suit paired a plunging blazer with strong shoulders and peak lapels, worn against bare skin, with matching capri pants ending at the knee in a slim, tailored cut. Strappy sandals, rectangle sunglasses and gold hoops finished it. A blazer with nothing under it only works if the lapels lie flat, so I run double-sided fashion tape along the inside edge and check the neckline while leaning forward. Dinners and evening parties suit it.
15. Sheer Off-Shoulder Polka-Dot Mini Dress With Thong Sandals

This dress pushed polka dots further: a sheer off-the-shoulder mini with bell sleeves and a short hem, lined with a white strapless mini for coverage. She wore it with summer's most argued-over shoe, flat thong sandals, which stopped an intricate dress from looking overdone. I'd copy that move whenever a dress has a lot going on: the plainer the shoe, the more relaxed the dress reads. Bell sleeves catch on everything at a table, though, so it's better for a garden party than a sit-down dinner.
16. Cropped White Tee With Belted Bermuda Shorts and Socks With Sandals

She made socks with sandals look deliberate. A cropped white tee with matching white Bermuda shorts was cinched with a black-and-gold belt, and white ankle socks showed above black strappy sandals. A black leather tote and slim sunglasses finished it, and white with black accents gives a crisp, graphic result. The socks must be thin and plain, with no logos or thick cushioning, or they look like gym socks left on by mistake. It shows knee-length shorts can be as sharp as micro ones.
17. White Tube Top With Indigo Jeans and Woven Shoulder Bag

Her off-duty look doesn't get simpler than this. A fitted white tube top showed the shoulders and collarbone, with dark indigo jeans cropped at the ankle in a mid rise, flat flip-flops and a woven black shoulder bag. Skinny oval sunglasses finished it. A fitted top with slightly relaxed denim gives a shape that looks thought through. Dark indigo can rub blue onto white fabric at the waist on a sweaty day, so I wash new dark jeans once, inside out, before wearing them with white.
18. Cropped Black Leather Jacket With White Tank and Low-Rise Jeans

Another take on her favorite formula, with a tougher edge. A cropped black leather jacket, worn open, sat over a white midriff-skimming tank with loose low-rise indigo jeans resting on the hips. Silver rings and hoop earrings added shine, flat flip flops kept it summery and soft waves took the hard edge off the leather. I'd keep this for evenings when the temperature drops enough to want a jacket for an hour or two.
19. Cheetah-Print Mini Dress With Strappy Sandals

For an evening event she stepped away from neutrals in a vintage Versace cheetah-print mini from the autumn 1996 collection: sleeveless, close to the body and loud. Accessories stayed minimal, with strappy sandals, loose hair and light makeup. If you copy this with any bold animal print, keep everything else plain and in one tone, ideally a shoe close to your skin tone, so the print has nothing to compete with. Her style is mostly minimal, but it has room for an archive piece when the night calls for it.
20. Oversized Blazer With Denim Cutoff Shorts and Sandals

This is one of her most reliable formulas. An oversized blazer in black, camel or cream goes over a simple top and cutoff denim shorts, with slide sandals or flat flip flops. The blazer adds structure; the shorts keep it summery. Slim sunglasses and a little gold jewelry are all it needs, and a swap to heels takes it into the evening. The fit check I make is at the sleeve: push it to mid-forearm, and if it won't stay there, a hair tie under the cuff will hold it.
21. Knit Cardigan and Matching Top With White Tee and Blue Jeans

On a wine-country getaway she layered a cropped black cardigan, knitted in an open fishnet stitch and trimmed with fine fur, over her usual white tank and blue jeans. Even with the fur, the open knit kept it light enough for summer. Oval sunglasses, gold hoops and a small watch were all the shine, and a bun kept attention on the cardigan. One standout layer over a basic outfit is easy to copy. For real heat I'd choose a cotton or linen-blend open knit; acrylic versions trap warmth and feel sticky by evening.
22. Yellow Lemon Pucci Matching Set With Bikini Top

She committed fully to a lemon theme with this matching set. A lemon-yellow and white Pucci print covered a cropped blouse and capri pants, with a matching bikini top showing underneath. Clear sandals, a gold watch and skinny sunglasses finished it. A bold print head to toe works because it's one print, not two. Pale yellow washes out some skin tones, so hold the fabric up to your face in daylight first; if you look tired, keep the yellow on your lower half and wear white on top.
23. Vintage Dior Slip Dress With Minimal Accessories

At Coachella she wore a vintage Christian Dior lace slip from the autumn/winter 1998 runway, with spaghetti straps and a soft, loose shape. She kept accessories to almost nothing and let the dress do the work. For a festival, I'd pair any lace slip with flat sandals or simple sneakers and bring a layer, because desert nights cool down quickly. Lace also catches on velcro and zips, so keep the bag simple.
24. Black Off-Shoulder Long-Sleeve Top With Bike Shorts

This one borrows from 90s supermodel off-duty style. A thin black off-the-shoulder long-sleeve top went over a matching black sports bralette, with mini high-rise black bike shorts from Alo, a thick white headband, black sunglasses and white sneakers to finish the athleisure-inspired ensemble. A single color head to toe is what makes gym pieces look ready for the street. Short bike shorts ride up on the inner thigh, so I look for a pair with a silicone gripper at the hem. It's a coffee-run outfit.
25. White Long-Sleeve Semi-Sheer Top With Boyfriend Jeans

This is her answer to in-between weather. A semi-sheer white long-sleeve top went over a matte white tank for coverage, with slouchy dark boyfriend jeans that pooled slightly at the hem and black leather flip flops. A fitted, delicate top against loose denim keeps it balanced. Pooled hems over flat flip flops drag on the pavement and fray at the heel, so I'd cuff them once if the jeans are a favorite pair.
26. Camo Cargo Pants With Cropped Tank and Sneakers

She leans streetwear with relaxed camo cargo pants and a fitted cropped tank, plus chunky sneakers, a baseball cap and slim sunglasses. Loose bottoms against a tiny top is the same proportion play behind much of her summer style, here with a Y2K nod. Cargos with a drawstring hem can be cinched at the ankle, which shows the sneaker and stops a shorter leg disappearing in fabric. It's good for travel days and weekends.
27. Brown Oversized Leather Jacket With White Jeans and Converse

Leather with summer whites is a combination I like a lot. She wore a boxy, matte, oversized brown leather jacket over a white top with bright white jeans and classic canvas sneakers. Brown feels lighter than black leather would in summer, and slim sunglasses with a little gold kept the rest clean. White jeans need enough weight to stay opaque. In the shop I check whether pocket bags show through the front, because if they show on the hanger, they'll show worse on you.
28. Hot Pink Bodysuit With Green Trench Coat

This look plays with color. The base was an all-black, close-fitting shorts bodysuit, with a vivid green trench coat thrown over it. The trench adds movement while the bodysuit keeps the line clean, and simple accessories and sunglasses finished it. Bright outerwear over a black base is the easiest way into a strong color, and if green doesn't suit you near the face, an open trench keeps most of it away from your skin. It works for evenings out.
29. FILA Cropped Baby Tee With Baggy Sweatpants and Sneakers

Her FILA collaboration showed her version of athleisure. A cropped baby tee in a soft neutral went with baggy sweatpants that hung straight, and chunky sneakers, while the collection's colors, including FILA Green and Popcorn Yellow, stood out against city streets. What separates this from gym wear is fit: roomy sweats in a fleece heavy enough to hold its shape, and a tee that ends right at the waistband. Thin jersey sweats cling and bag at the knee, so I'd choose the heavier weight every time.
30. Black Halter Top With Wide-Leg Trousers and Kitten Heels

Her evening take on all black is a fitted halter that shows the shoulders and back, tucked into wide-leg black trousers for one long line. Pointed kitten heels add a little lift without the pain of a stiletto, and a fine gold necklace with slim sunglasses finishes it. Wide-leg trousers have to be hemmed for the exact heel. I hem them so the fabric just touches the top of the shoe, since a pointed toe peeking out is what makes the leg look longer.
31. White Crop Top With Wide-Leg Trousers and Heeled Flip Flops

On a very hot New York day she dressed for the heat. A classic white V-neck crop top went with low-waisted wide-leg trousers in a light fabric that moved in the breeze, plus heeled Toteme flip-flops. Nothing is tight or heavy, and it still looks smart enough for a lunch meeting. For trousers like these in real heat, look for linen or a linen-viscose blend. Polyester crepe looks similar on the hanger but traps heat against the legs.
32. Red Embroidered Halter Top With Light-Wash Denim

For an afternoon on the grass she wore a scarlet embroidered halter with a plunging neckline and a Y2K feel, keeping the light-wash denim simple so the top stood out. A gold nameplate necklace was the only accessory. Embroidered tops weigh more than they look, and a halter carries all of it at the neck, so I'd pick one with a wide neck strap or a hook closure rather than a thin tie. It's a carefree outfit that takes almost no planning.
33. Strapless Green Satin Mini Dress With Heeled Sandals

Her other emerald mini went strapless and slinky, fitting like a second skin and catching the light under city streetlights. Heeled sandals lengthened the leg, while minimal jewelry and natural makeup kept the focus on the color. I'd only wear a jersey this fitted with smooth, no-line underwear, and I'd stand in it under a bright light first, because shine shows every line. One bold piece, plain shoes, and the color does the rest.
34. Black Bodysuit With Distressed Denim Shorts and Leather Blazer

Here she layered for a day that runs into the evening. A sleek black bodysuit was the base, with distressed light-wash denim shorts and an oversized brown leather blazer over the top. Chunky loafers or heeled sandals finish it, depending on the plans. A bodysuit keeps the line smooth under shorts, which is why I prefer it to a tucked tee here. Just check that the snap closure lies flat and doesn't show through thin denim.
35. White Racerback Tank With Indigo Jeans and Black Flip Flops
Her summer uniform begins and ends with this: a white racerback tank, loose low-rise indigo jeans, black flat flip flops, a black woven shoulder bag, slim oval sunglasses and gold jewelry. Nothing about it is complicated, and that's the point. It works because the fit is right and the colors never date. If I could pass on one formula from this list, it would be this one, and the only real investment is a pair of jeans that fits you through the hip.
Rebuilding Her Looks Without the Designer Labels
Plenty of the pieces above are runway or archive designer clothes, but the outfits rarely depend on the label. When I recreate a celebrity look, I write down three things before shopping: the silhouette, the colors and the shoe. A white tank, low-rise straight jeans and a black thong sandal is a formula you can fill from almost any store.
- Copy the shape first. A boxy blazer, or a capri that ends just below the knee, matters more than the exact fabric.
- Hold the palette to two or three colors, as she does. Most of these outfits are white, black, denim and one accent.
- Spend where it shows. A well-cut pair of jeans and a good sandal carry more of these looks than any single top.
- Skip fragile fabrics for everyday copies. Silk chiffon and vintage lace photograph well but need careful handling all day.
Shop your own closet before buying anything. A plain tank, one pair of loose jeans and a blazer you already own will cover close to a third of the outfits in this list.
Low Rises and Micro Lengths on Your Terms
Several of these outfits lean on low-rise jeans, micro shorts and cropped tops. They don't suit everyone, and they don't have to. I adjust them rather than drop them, because the proportion is what makes the look, not the amount of skin.
- Low-rise jeans gape at the back when you sit if there's a big difference between your waist and hip. A mid rise with the same loose leg gives a near-identical look.
- Micro shorts can become shorts with a 4 to 5 inch inseam. Under an oversized blazer the effect is almost the same.
- If you'd rather not show your midriff, tuck a fitted bodysuit into the jeans in place of the cropped tank.
- Flat thong sandals give no arch support. For a long city day I'd choose a pair with a contoured footbed and save the thin ones for short outings.
The aim is her proportions, not her measurements. Keep the contrast between fitted and loose, and the rest can bend to your shape, your climate and how much you want to show.
Her Summer Formula, Pared Down
Her summer style works because it's built on clothes you can actually live in. She picks up trends selectively and anchors them in a handful of basics: the oversized blazer, the cropped tank, worn-in jeans and the thong sandal. Those pieces come back again and again in new combinations. The part worth copying is proportion, like a tiny top with baggy trousers, a structured jacket over short shorts, or a bold print against plain accessories. Most of those formulas can be rebuilt from what's already in your closet and adjusted to your own life and comfort.
