If quiet luxury was fashion keeping its voice down, Glamoratti is the opposite. It's a maximalist look built on 1980s excess, with baggy suits, chunky belts and gold everywhere, but cut and worn in a more modern way: sculpted shoulders, funnel-neck jackets, silk suiting and jewelry you can see from across a room. When I build these looks in a client's closet, I treat it as confident dressing rather than costume. You can go all the way with a power suit, or add one dramatic piece to a clean base and stop there. Below are 30 outfits to copy or remix, with notes on fit and proportion for each.

Where a Sculpted Shoulder Should Actually End
Almost every outfit below depends on a strong shoulder, and it's the detail I see go wrong most often. A good oversized blazer is designed to be big. A blazer that's simply several sizes too large just looks like it belongs to someone else.
- The shoulder seam should sit a little past your natural shoulder, not halfway down your upper arm. Look at it from the side as well as the front.
- Padding should hold its shape when you lift your arms. Soft, thin pads collapse and leave a dent at the top of the sleeve.
- Sleeves can be long, but your thumb tip should still show when your arms hang. Longer than that and the jacket starts to look like a coat.
- The back should hang straight without pulling across the shoulder blades when you reach forward. If it pulls, go up a size or try a different cut.
Shoulder pads can be added or removed by a tailor, and it's usually a simple job. If you already own a plain blazer that fits well, adding a firmer pad is a cheaper way into this look than buying a new suit.
1. Glamoratti Oversized Suit With White Button Down

A charcoal oversized suit is the easiest way into this look, and it still works in an office. The blazer's shoulders do the talking, so check that the padding ends just past your own shoulder bone; much further and it reads borrowed rather than chosen. Wide-leg trousers that graze the floor make one long line. A white button-down, loosely tucked, breaks up the gray. Black pointed heels, a leather tote, a thin black belt and a gold watch finish it. Roll the blazer cuffs once to show a bit of wrist, which keeps the big shape from swallowing your hands.
2. Glamoratti Funnel Neck Jacket And Wide Leg Trousers

A funnel neck frames the face with one clean line, and that's why it's so central to this style. Pick a black funnel-neck jacket with light shoulder padding, structured but not theatrical. A thin knit tank or bodysuit underneath stays out of the way. High-waist wide-leg trousers in black viscose or a wool blend continue the line down, and black stiletto ankle boots keep it sharp. Funnel necks are tricky on a short neck, so I keep the collar soft and slightly open for those clients. Big gold hoops and a burgundy top-handle bag add the only contrast.
3. Glamoratti Monochrome Cream Baggy Suit Look

An all-cream suit is impractical, and that's part of its appeal. A cream blazer with strong shoulders and notch lapels, with matching pleated wide-leg trousers that pool slightly at the hem, carries the outfit. Pleats add room at the hip, so this cut suits fuller hips better than a flat-front trouser. A beige ribbed tank underneath, tan loafers and a pebbled brown mini bag warm it up. Gold hoops and black cat-eye sunglasses bring the drama. Cream wool shows makeup at the collar, so I tell clients to dress last and keep a clean cloth handy.
4. Glamoratti Structured Blazer With Pencil Skirt

A sharp blazer with a slim pencil skirt is restrained authority with a softer edge. Look for a black single-button blazer with structured shoulders and a nipped waist; that waist shaping is what gives the 1980s power shape without tipping into costume. A high-neck sleeveless top in cream softens the black. The midi pencil skirt should end at the calf, and it needs a back vent or slit or you'll be shuffling. Black kitten-heel slingbacks, a chunky gold chain worn outside the lapel, dark sunglasses and a top-handle bag complete it.
5. Glamoratti Leather Blazer And Straight Leg Jeans

A leather blazer moves the trend into edgier territory while keeping the shoulder-led shape. A black single-breasted leather blazer with padded shoulders and a slightly long cut is the main piece. Real leather softens and molds to you over time; faux leather stays stiffer and can crease at the elbows. A white cotton tee tucked into high-waist indigo straight-leg jeans makes a clean base. Square-toe strappy heeled sandals keep it from feeling heavy. A thick gold cuff and big door-knocker earrings carry the gold, and a plain leather crossbody works from day to night.
6. Glamoratti Silk Suit In Dusty Blue

A dusty blue silk suit is quiet enough for an appointment and unusual enough to get comments. Crinkled silk drapes over the body and hides creases from sitting, which is why I prefer it to smooth silk for a suit you'll wear all day. The blazer has a relaxed but structured shoulder and one button at the waist; matching straight-leg trousers move as you walk. A silk camisole in the same tone goes underneath. Nude pointed slingback flats, one sculptural gold ring, small heavy gold drops and a taupe croc-embossed bag finish it. It suits a gallery visit, a big meeting or a rooftop dinner.
7. Glamoratti Chunky Belt Over Longline Blazer

The chunky belt is the accessory that defines this trend, and it can turn a plain blazer into the whole outfit. Pick a longline black wool-blend blazer with extended shoulders that falls past the hip, then belt it at the waist with a wide black leather belt and a heavy gold buckle. Belting over a blazer only works if the blazer fabric is thin enough to gather; a thick wool will bunch into lumps under the belt. A thin black turtleneck and slim cigarette trousers keep the base sleek, and stiletto ankle boots lengthen the leg. Gold chain bracelet and small hoops repeat the buckle.
8. Glamoratti Satin Slip Dress With Oversized Blazer

A satin slip dress under an oversized blazer mixes liquid shine with structure. Choose a champagne or bronze bias-cut slip with thin straps that falls to mid-calf. Bias-cut satin clings to the hips and stomach, so I suggest a smoothing slip underneath for anyone who wants a cleaner line. A black blazer with strong shoulders goes over it, sleeves pushed to the elbow. Strappy black stiletto sandals, chunky gold chandelier earrings, a thick gold cuff and a black velvet envelope clutch finish it. The wool against the satin is what makes it look current.
9. Glamoratti Zebra Print Dress With Gold Jewelry

A zebra-print slip dress is the wild card here, bold enough to stand on its own. A black-and-white strappy dress in soft crepe that falls to the ankle gives you one long, patterned line. Because the print does the work, keep the layer simple: a cropped black jacket worn open, or bare shoulders if the occasion allows. Graphic black-and-white prints can overpower very fair or very delicate features, so I like a bold lip or strong brow to hold the face against it. Delicate black ankle-strap sandals, chunky gold hoops, stacked bangles and a lizard-embossed clutch finish it.
10. Glamoratti Velvet Blazer With Silk Cami

Velvet and satin together feel luxurious, especially in black. Start with a black velvet single-breasted blazer cut slightly long with strong shoulders and a satin peak lapel. A champagne silk cami with lace trim shows at the neckline, and slim cropped black trousers with a center crease keep the bottom half clean. Velvet crushes where it's pressed, so hang the blazer rather than folding it, and steam it from the inside before wearing. Black velvet kitten-heel pumps echo the jacket, and a gold chain at the collarbone, a gold chain bracelet and a black satin clutch finish it for dinner or a holiday evening.
11. Glamoratti Pinstripe Power Suit And Chunky Gold Jewelry

A navy pinstripe suit brings back 1980s executive dressing with looser proportions. Choose an oversized double-breasted blazer that reaches the upper thigh and matching wide-leg trousers that end just above the floor. Pinstripes make you look taller when the stripes run unbroken from shoulder to hem, so I keep belts and contrast layers out of this one. A white ribbed tank is the only base layer, leaving room for a heavy gold chain-link choker necklace, a gold cuff and a chunky ring. Square-toe block-heel boots, black sunglasses and a structured leather tote complete it.
12. Glamoratti Metallic Midi Skirt With Black Turtleneck

One metallic piece against soft, matte layers can be enough. A pleated gold metallic midi skirt catches light in every direction, so it doesn't need any other pattern. Tuck in a fitted black cashmere turtleneck to anchor it. Metallic pleats crease badly if they're crushed in a bag, so I hang these skirts by the waist and twist them gently to keep the pleats set. Black pointed knee-high boots with a slim kitten heel slip under the hem. A gold cuff, small heavy drops and a black satin chain bag finish it, and it works from the office to drinks.
13. Glamoratti Deep Wine Colored Suit Outfit

Deep wine sits between burgundy and plum, and it's one of the colors driving this trend's rich palette. A matte wool-blend suit with a sculpted single-breasted blazer and straight-leg trousers gives you a commanding single-color base. Wine is more forgiving than red against most skin tones, which is why I reach for it for clients who find bright red too much. A black silk cami keeps the neckline dark. Black stiletto pumps, two thin gold chains at different lengths, gold tube hoops and a lizard-texture clutch finish it.
14. Glamoratti Oversized Coat With Funnel Neck Sweater

Outerwear matters a lot in this look, and an oversized camel coat over a chunky funnel-neck sweater builds real volume. The coat should have dropped shoulders and a loose cut with a tie belt worn loose or left open. A cream or oatmeal funnel-neck sweater gives the sculpted neckline without a blazer. Chocolate brown wide-leg trousers add a second, richer neutral. Two bulky layers can make a petite frame disappear, so I'd keep the trousers close to the coat color to make one long line. Tan loafers or heeled mules, a heavy gold chain, gold dome earrings and a brown suede tote finish it.
15. Glamoratti White Tailored Suit With Gold Accessories

An all-white suit is impractical and luxurious, which makes it a natural fit for this trend. A white single-breasted blazer with defined shoulders and notch lapels, with matching ankle-length straight-leg trousers, sets the tone. Check the fabric weight before buying; thin white suiting shows pockets, seams and underwear lines, so a fully lined suit is worth the extra cost. A white silk shell underneath, nude pumps, a thick gold chain worn outside the blazer, a heavy bracelet and big square gold earrings carry it. A glossy white bag and black cat-eye sunglasses finish it.
16. Glamoratti Blazer And Midi Pencil Skirt With Heels

A black pencil skirt and an oversized blazer are a reliable pairing in this style. The blazer should be black with strong padded shoulders and reach the hip bone, worn open so the waist still shows. A white button-down with a sharp collar, tucked into a high-waist black midi pencil skirt, lengthens the torso. The skirt should end just below the knee with a small back slit. A d'Orsay pump, cut away at the sides, shows more of the foot and lengthens the leg. Chunky gold hoops, a gold watch and a black bag with gold hardware complete it. The big blazer over the slim skirt keeps it from looking like a uniform.
17. Glamoratti Chenille Funnel Neck Sweater Set

A coordinating chenille set shows how well tonal dressing works in this trend. Start with a chenille funnel-neck sweater in camel or rich brown; the high neck gives the upper body structure without a jacket. Matching chenille trousers in a wide or straight leg finish the single-color look. Chenille sheds and can pull into loops if it catches on rings or a bag strap, so I keep jewelry smooth here. Cream pointed mules lighten the feet. A sculptural gold cuff worn over the sleeve, brushed-gold dome earrings and a tan hobo bag finish it, which suits travel days and coffee meetings.
18. Glamoratti Satin Trousers With Fitted Knit Top

Satin wide-leg trousers are more wearable than they look when you pair them with a plain, matte top. Choose high-waist champagne or soft gold satin with a fluid drape, and tuck in a fitted black ribbed knit. Pale satin on the bottom makes the hips look larger, so this works best for clients who want to bring attention to the lower half or who carry weight above the waist. A black belt with a small gold buckle links the two halves. Pointed heeled ankle boots, a chunky gold chain, several gold rings, tortoiseshell sunglasses and a black structured bag finish it.
19. Glamoratti Leather Midi Skirt With Sculpted Shoulder Top

A black leather midi skirt brings texture and structure at once, which makes it one of the most useful pieces in this style. Pick an A-line or slightly flared skirt that sits at the natural waist and ends at mid-calf. Leather skirts stretch a little at the seat with wear, so they should fit snugly when new. Tuck in a white top with small shoulder pads and a high neck. Black suede stiletto ankle boots lengthen the leg. A wide gold chain-link belt over the top and skirt, big door-knocker earrings, a thick cuff and a structured black mini bag finish it.
20. Glamoratti Polka Dot Blouse With Tailored Trousers

Not every outfit in this trend needs a suit. A black silk polka-dot blouse with a tie neck and slightly puffed shoulders can carry the whole look. I prefer cream or ivory dots on black; small dots read classic, while larger dots lean playful. Tuck it loosely into high-waist black cigarette trousers with a sharp crease and cropped hem. Black pointed slingback flats keep it daytime. A heavy gold chain over the blouse, small gold hoops and a black patent top-handle bag finish it. The blouse has the pattern, so everything else stays plain.
21. Glamoratti Jewel Tone Blazer Dress With Gold Belt

A blazer dress is a one-piece answer, especially in emerald or sapphire. Look for strong padded shoulders, a double-breasted front and a hem at mid-thigh, in a matte wool or heavy crepe that holds its shape. Thin fabric collapses at the shoulders and won't support a belt. Cinch it with a wide gold chain belt or a black leather belt with a big gold buckle to make an hourglass from a straight cut. Nude strappy heels keep the legs long and stay out of the way of the color. A gold choker with a longer pendant, cuffs on both wrists and a velvet clutch finish it.
22. Glamoratti Wide Leg Jeans With Oversized Blazer

Denim grounds all the silk and tailoring in this trend. Dark-wash, high-waisted wide-leg jeans with a full-length leg give a clean, slightly retro base. Add a cream oversized blazer with strong shoulders that falls to the upper thigh, and tuck a white tank or bodysuit in at the waist. Make sure the jeans are hemmed for heels; wide-leg denim cut for flats drags the ground and frays at the back. Tan pointed heeled mules link to the blazer. A chunky gold choker, big gold hoops, a brown leather crossbody and dark sunglasses finish it.
23. Glamoratti Bias Cut Satin Skirt With Cropped Jacket

A bias-cut satin midi skirt in emerald, sapphire or amethyst gives fluid luxury, and a cropped black jacket on top creates a strong contrast in length. The skirt should skim the hips and fall to mid-calf; the jacket, with sculpted shoulders, should stop right at the natural waist. A cropped jacket shortens the torso, so I'd keep the skirt's waistband high and the cami the same black as the jacket to avoid a visible break. Black ankle-strap stilettos, a heavy gold choker, chunky gold earrings, a bangle and a velvet clutch with a gold clasp complete it for evening.
24. Glamoratti Tweed Blazer With Cigarette Trousers

Tweed is a heritage fabric that this trend makes feel new. A black-and-white boucle tweed blazer with sculpted shoulders and frayed edges brings texture and pattern. Over a black silk crewneck tucked into slim cropped cigarette trousers with a crease, it reads sharp and polished. Boucle snags easily, so watch chunky rings and bag hardware. Black pointed stiletto ankle boots, a chunky gold chain over the tweed, gold hoops and an oversized vintage-style brooch on the lapel tie it to the maximalist mood. A glossy black top-handle bag finishes it.
25. Glamoratti Animal Print Coat With All Black Base

A leopard or cheetah coat in warm tones is statement outerwear in this style. Wear a mid-length faux-fur leopard coat with a loose fit and wide lapels over an all-black base: a thin black turtleneck and slim black leather trousers. Faux fur mats if it gets wet and is then rubbed, so I tell clients to shake it out and let it air-dry hanging, never near a heater. Black stiletto pumps, a chunky gold chain over the turtleneck, big gold disc earrings, stacked rings and a structured black bag complete it. One loud piece over a quiet base is the whole formula.
26. Glamoratti Draped Top With Tailored Wide Leg Pants

An asymmetric draped top in deep burgundy or plum gives the sculpted look without a blazer. The draping should come from a one-sided neckline or a side gather, creating shape across the upper body. Draped jersey hides a soft middle well, which is why I suggest it to clients who don't love a fitted top. High-waist black wide-leg trousers that skim the floor make a long column from waist to hem. Black stiletto pumps, a heavy gold cuff, two gold chains at different lengths, gold dome earrings and a black satin clutch finish it for evening.
27. Glamoratti Cape Sleeve Blazer With Pencil Skirt

A cape-sleeve blazer pushes the silhouette further while staying wearable. The sleeves fall open like a cape instead of closing at the wrist, over padded shoulders and a fitted body that buttons at the waist. The practical catch is that you can't lift your arms much or carry a shoulder bag, so I pair it with a clutch. A black silk tank keeps attention on the sleeves. A high-waist black midi pencil skirt with a side slit keeps the lower half slim. Ankle-strap stiletto pumps, a chunky gold pendant, gold earrings and a wide cuff finish it for a milestone dinner or an opening.
28. Glamoratti Metallic Gold Dress With Strappy Heels

A liquid gold midi dress needs nothing else to carry it. Choose a bias-cut slip in champagne or soft gold metallic with thin straps, a cowl neck and a calf-length hem. Metallic fabrics show every line beneath them, so a nude, smooth slip underneath matters more here than with any other dress. Gold strappy stilettos continue the shine. Add a heavy gold choker, stacked bangles and one cocktail ring, plus a black velvet clutch as the only matte surface, which keeps it from looking like a costume. Keep hair and makeup polished and simple.
29. Glamoratti Wide Leg Jumpsuit With Shoulder Pad Blazer

A black wide-leg jumpsuit is a one-piece alternative to the suit, and a structured blazer over it doubles the effect. Start with a black crepe jumpsuit with a deep V-neck, a defined waist and full-length wide legs. Crepe hangs well and doesn't cling, which is why I like it for jumpsuits. Layer an oversized black blazer with strong shoulders that falls to mid-thigh, worn open so the neckline and waist still show. Pointed heels or stiletto sandals, a chunky gold chain in the V, big hoops, a gold cuff and a small black bag with gold hardware finish it.
30. Glamoratti Silk Blouse With Tailored Shorts And Chunky Belt

In warm weather, the trend works through fabric and proportion. A cream silk blouse with a pussy-bow tie at the neck and slightly full sleeves adds drama without heat. Tuck it into high-waist black tailored shorts that end at mid-thigh with a pressed crease. A wide black leather belt with a big gold buckle cinches the waist over the blouse. Silk shows sweat at the underarm, so on a very hot day I'd pick a silk-feel crepe instead. Block-heel strappy sandals, heavy gold disc earrings, stacked bracelets, big black sunglasses and a structured top-handle bag finish it.
Big Shoulders on Petite and Broad Frames
Strong shoulders aren't for one body type, but the rules change with your frame.
If you're petite
Keep the blazer length at the top of the thigh or shorter, and keep the color the same from top to bottom so the eye travels down instead of stopping at the hem. A cropped jacket or a belted blazer shows more leg, which balances the width at the top. Very wide trousers work if they're high-waisted and hemmed to just clear the floor in heels.
If your shoulders are already broad
You don't need extra padding to get this look. Pick a softer, rounded shoulder and let the volume come from somewhere else, such as a wide-leg trouser, a funnel neck or a chunky belt. Deep V-necks and open collars break up the width across the chest.
How Much Gold Is Too Much
Heavy gold is part of this style, but it reads as costume when every piece is fighting for attention. I work with one lead piece at the neck or wrist and let the rest stay smaller. A chunky chain and big earrings together can work on a plain neckline, but add a busy print and one of them has to go.
Mixing finishes is fine. Brushed gold, polished gold and a little tortoiseshell sit well together. Plated jewelry can wear off where it rubs against skin, particularly on bracelets and rings, so keep it dry and take it off before washing your hands or putting on lotion.
Lead With One Piece and Let the Rest Support It
This trend isn't about copying a 1980s costume. It's about borrowing that decade's confidence and wearing it in a modern way. You can buy a full sculpted-shoulder suit or simply add a chunky gold belt and big earrings to clothes you already own. Proportion is what holds it together: volume on top with a slim bottom, or the reverse, but always on purpose. Pick one or two pieces to lead, a strong shoulder, a funnel neck or a metallic finish, and let everything else support them.
