Back to school crop top outfits can feel cute and still get through a full day of desks, stairs and hallway air conditioning, as long as the proportions are worked out before you leave the house. My starting formula never changes: a crop that meets a high waistband, one light layer you can take off, and shoes you could walk a mile in. This year that means wide-leg and barrel denim, cargos, varsity layers, soft knits and denim skirts, all worn without piling on extras. If your school enforces a no-midriff rule, nothing here is off the table; you just add a longer tank underneath or keep the layer closed during class. Below are the 50 combinations I'd actually put together for a student.

Where a Crop Hem Should Meet a High Waistband
Before any of the outfits below, I sort out one measurement: the gap between the bottom of the top and the top of the waistband. For school, I aim for a sliver of skin or none at all when you stand, and I accept a little more when you lift your arms. A crop that ends at your natural waist paired with jeans that rise to the navel almost always gets that right.
- Stand in front of a mirror and raise both arms as if you're reaching for a shelf. If the gap grows past two finger widths, the top is too short for class without a layer.
- Sit down on a hard chair. Low-rise bottoms drop at the back when you sit, which is why every outfit here uses a high rise.
- Match volume: a fitted crop with a loose bottom, or a boxy crop with a slimmer one. Two loose pieces swallow the waist.
- If you're petite, a crop that hits right at the waistband lengthens the leg. If you're tall, check the length on the body, since tops sized for an average torso end higher on you.
1. Crop Top And Wide Leg Jeans Outfit

Wide-leg jeans are the easiest place to start on the first day back, because the high rise does most of the work for you. I match the top to the volume of the leg: a snug ribbed crop with loose denim, or a boxy cropped tee if the jeans sit a little closer. Low sneakers keep the hem from dragging, and I always check that the back of the jeans clears the floor by a finger's width so it doesn't fray by October. For a cold classroom, throw an oversized button-down over everything. Every piece here also mixes into other outfits on this list.
2. Crop Top And Cargo Pants Outfit

Cargos are where function wins. The pockets actually hold lip balm, keys and earbuds, which matters on days you don't want to carry a bag between rooms. I look for a high-waisted pair with a relaxed leg, because low-rise cargos and a crop leave a gap every time you sit. Beige, olive, gray and black all pair easily with a white, black or pastel top. Chunky sneakers balance the heavy fabric at the hem, and a cropped zip hoodie or bomber ends right at the waistband, so the lines stay clean.
3. Crop Top And Denim Skirt Outfit

An A-line denim skirt flares slightly away from the hips, which is why I prefer it over a tight stretch mini for school: you can sit, climb and bend without tugging it down all day. Pair it with a fitted baby tee or ribbed tank crop, then white sneakers or flat Mary Janes. I'd always put bike shorts underneath. A cardigan, zip hoodie or oversized denim jacket covers the midriff when you need it, and a tote, claw clip and thin necklace are plenty. Wear it on the warm days when jeans feel heavy.
4. Crop Top And Oversized Flannel Outfit

A crop top and oversized flannel outfit earns its place on early fall mornings that start cold and end warm. Under it, I keep the crop plain in white, black, gray or brown, and add high-waisted straight jeans or cargos. Wear the flannel open, or button only the middle two or three so it shapes at the waist. Brushed cotton flannel softens with every wash, so a secondhand one is often better than new. Green, red, navy and tan plaids give color without any need for loud accessories.
5. Crop Top And Varsity Jacket Outfit

The varsity jacket does a lot here: it signals school straight away and its ribbed hem lands at the waist, so it frames a short top instead of fighting it. I'd go with a fitted crop tee or tank, then baggy jeans, joggers or a pleated skirt. Most varsity jackets have a wool body, which runs warm indoors, so plan on carrying it in a heated building. Retro court sneakers or chunky white pairs, crew socks and a cap round it off. It suits high school and college equally.
6. Crop Top And Pleated Skirt Outfit

For a preppy day, a high-waisted pleated skirt in black, gray, navy, khaki or plaid gives the crop a neat frame. I pair it with a fitted crop or a cropped polo, then white crew socks with loafers, Mary Janes or clean sneakers. Pleats crush if you sit on them badly, so smooth the skirt under you when you take a seat and press it on the weekend. A cardigan or sweater knotted over the shoulders adds coverage. Keep the rest simple: a structured tote and a ribbon or claw clip.
7. Crop Top And Joggers Outfit

Joggers are my pick for long lectures and 8 a.m. starts. Choose a high-waisted pair in gray, black, beige or navy and keep the top fitted, because a loose crop with a loose jogger reads like pajamas. The cuffed ankle shows off the sneaker, so running shoes or retro trainers look intentional here. Add a zip hoodie and a backpack or crossbody. Gold hoops or a sleek bun make the difference between gym clothes and a planned outfit on days you walk across campus a lot.
8. Crop Top And Straight Leg Jeans Outfit

If I had to pick one combination to repeat all semester, it would be straight-leg jeans with a crop. The leg is cleaner than baggy denim and still roomy enough to sit in for hours. Medium wash with a black crop gives contrast; light wash with a pastel top reads softer. I check where the hem falls: just touching the top of a sneaker is right, and anything bunching over the shoe makes the leg look shorter. Throw a cropped cardigan, blazer or button-down on top as the weather turns.
9. Crop Top And Track Pants Outfit

Track pants need a straight or wide leg to look like a choice rather than gym gear. I keep the top fitted: a baby tee, a cropped tank or a slim long-sleeve crop. Nylon track pants swish when you walk and can be noisy in a quiet room, so I'd lean toward a brushed or cotton-blend pair for class. Retro sneakers, a zip jacket and a shoulder bag keep it sporty. Navy pants with a white top and a red accent is the easiest color story.
10. Crop Top And Baggy Jeans Outfit

With baggy jeans, the top has to give the outfit its shape. A fitted ribbed tee, cropped tank or slim long-sleeve crop does that; a boxy top on top of baggy denim swallows a smaller frame. Belt them so the waist sits where it should, because heavy denim slides down over a day. Chunky sneakers stop the wide hem from overwhelming your feet. Light wash looks relaxed; black looks sharper and more city. A cropped jacket or open flannel adds coverage without hiding the silhouette.
11. Crop Top And Cardigan Outfit

Strong classroom air conditioning is exactly why I keep a cardigan in this rotation. Start with a crop tank, a fitted crop tee, or a tube crop worn over a cami, then high-waisted jeans, a denim skirt or tailored trousers. Button the cardigan halfway and it creates a waist; leave it open and it's casual. Fine-gauge knits pill under backpack straps, so I'd choose a cotton or wool blend over cheap acrylic. Cream, oatmeal, blush, gray and sage all sit well with denim.
12. Crop Top And Blazer Outfit

College students who need a polished campus look for a presentation or club meeting can lean on a blazer. A plain crop with high-waisted jeans, trousers or a midi skirt under an oversized blazer reads put together, and the jacket covers the midriff the moment you button it. I look at the shoulder seam first: on an oversized cut it can drop a little, but it shouldn't sag halfway down the arm. Sneakers keep it casual; loafers make it academic. Choose a longer crop or a tank underneath for a more modest version.
13. Crop Top And High Waisted Trousers Outfit

High-waisted trousers make a crop look more deliberate than jeans do. Wide or straight legs both balance the shorter top; I like a ribbed crop with pleated trousers and sneakers for an ordinary class day. For a softer palette, cream trousers with a brown or white top. Pale trousers show every mark from a chair or bus seat, so I'd keep a cream pair for days you're not sitting on the floor in the library. A thin belt, tote and small jewelry are enough.
14. Crop Top And Maxi Skirt Outfit

On hot days, a maxi skirt gives full coverage and still lets air move. Cotton, denim and jersey all work at a high waist. Pair a fitted crop with a flowing skirt, or a boxy crop with a straighter one, so only one piece carries volume. Long skirts catch on stairs and bike wheels, so I always check the hem sits just above the ankle with your actual shoes on. Flat sneakers, sandals or ballet flats, a tote and a light cardigan are all it needs.
15. Crop Top And Biker Shorts Outfit

Biker shorts are the trickiest item on this list for school, so I treat the layers as the outfit. Choose a slightly longer crop or an oversized cropped tee, then cover it with an open button-down, a big sweatshirt or a zip hoodie. Crew socks and sneakers anchor it. I'd save this for gym days, study sessions or warm afternoons, and I wouldn't wear it to a school with a strict dress code. Black shorts, a white top and a gray hoodie keep it from looking like you came straight from practice.
16. Crop Top And Overalls Outfit

Overalls solve the coverage question on their own: the bib hides most of the midriff while the crop peeks out at the sides. Classic denim is easy; black, cream or corduroy versions feel newer. Under them I'd wear a fitted crop tee, a striped crop or a cropped tank, with sneakers or flat boots. One strap down is fine for a relaxed setting, both up looks tidier. Check the side buttons before buying, since cheap ones pop off fast. A mini backpack and scrunchie finish it.
17. Crop Top And Denim Jacket Outfit

A denim jacket goes with nearly every bottom in this post. Wear it with high-waisted jeans for double denim, or with cargos, a skirt or trousers for contrast. For double denim, I keep the two washes clearly different so it doesn't look like an accidental match. A new rigid jacket is stiff at the elbows for the first few weeks; it softens with wear. Light wash looks relaxed, black looks sharper, dark looks polished. If the dress code is strict, button it during class.
18. Crop Top And Parachute Pants Outfit

A crop top and parachute pants outfit suits students who live in streetwear. The pants are roomy and usually have toggles at the hem, so I pull those in just enough to sit on top of a chunky sneaker rather than over it. Up top, keep it snug: a fitted crop, cropped tank or slim long-sleeve. A zip hoodie or bomber and a small crossbody are all you need. Gray, olive, black and beige are easiest to wear; soft pink or blue makes it more playful.
19. Crop Top And Mini Skirt Outfit

A mini skirt can work for school if the length is honest. I'd use the fingertip test many dress codes rely on: stand with arms straight down, and the hem should reach at least your fingertips. Denim, twill and pleated minis at a high waist are the most forgiving. Go with a longer crop or fitted baby tee and an oversized cardigan, bomber or button-down. Bike shorts underneath make a full day of stairs much easier. Keep the shoes flat and the top plain.
20. Crop Top And Sweatpants Outfit

Sweatpants need some structure before they look school-ready. I choose a high-waisted pair with a straight or slightly wide leg, never a tight cuffed one, and pair it with a fitted crop. A matching zip hoodie or crewneck over the shoulders makes it look like a set. Gray, cream, navy, black and brown keep it calm and grown-up. Fleece pills at the thighs and under the arms, so a quick pass with a fabric shaver keeps them looking new longer. Neat hair and small jewelry do the rest.
21. Crop Top And Button Down Shirt Outfit

An open button-down is the simplest way I know to make a crop feel covered without hiding it. Wear a fitted crop tank or tee with high-waisted jeans, trousers or a skirt, then the shirt on top. White, blue stripe, chambray and soft beige all go with everything. Go up a size or try the men's section so the shirt hangs loosely instead of pulling across the back. Tie it at the waist after class, or button it up when the room is cold.
22. Crop Top And Flare Jeans Outfit

Flares bring a throwback shape that still looks current. The high rise and wide hem visually lengthen the leg, but only if the hem nearly grazes the floor with your shoes on; cut too short, they look like a mistake. That's why I usually wear them with platform sneakers or low boots. Pair them with a fitted crop tee, cropped cardigan or long-sleeve crop. Medium and dark washes look sharper for class, light wash looks casual.
23. Crop Top And Leather Jacket Outfit

A leather jacket adds edge without much effort. Most student options are faux or vegan leather, which doesn't breathe, so it can feel clammy in a warm room; take it off indoors and carry it. I keep the crop plain so the jacket is the only strong piece, and ground it with high-waisted straight jeans, cargos or a midi skirt. Sneakers keep it daytime; flat boots add structure. Black, brown or cream go with the most.
24. Crop Top And Corduroy Pants Outfit

Corduroy is my favorite fall bottom for school because it adds warmth and texture with no extra effort. High-waisted pants in brown, cream, olive, burgundy or navy with a plain crop is enough. Wide-wale cord can crush at the knees and seat after long days of sitting, so I'd go for a fine or medium wale and hang them up after wearing. A cardigan, denim jacket or quilted jacket layers neatly over the top. Sneakers, loafers or flat boots all work.
25. Crop Top And Plaid Pants Outfit

Plaid pants already bring the personality, so I keep the crop solid in white, black, gray or a color pulled straight from the pattern. High-waisted straight or wide legs look more current than skinny plaid. Before buying, I check that the checks line up at the side seams; mismatched plaid looks cheap even across a room. Sneakers, loafers or Mary Janes work, and a cardigan or cropped jacket adds coverage. It fits students drawn to preppy, soft grunge, or academic looks. A plain backpack and small hoops keep it calm.
26. Crop Top And Matching Set Outfit

Matching sets are the closest thing to a one-decision morning. A school-friendly set pairs the crop with high-waisted pants, a skirt or shorts, ideally with an overshirt or jacket in the same fabric. Knit and ribbed sets are comfortable, but ribbed knit shows every bump underneath, so I'd wear a smooth T-shirt bra under it. If the top is very short, put a tank underneath or wear the matching jacket open. Neutral or muted sets give you more ways to split the pieces up later.
27. Crop Top And Long Denim Skirt Outfit

A long denim skirt gives full coverage with a current shape. A high-waisted maxi or midi balances the shorter top and keeps the outline clean. I'd go with a fitted crop tee, ribbed tank or cropped polo, then sneakers for class or loafers for a preppy finish. Rigid denim doesn't stretch to take a long stride, so a front or back slit makes stairs much easier. A belt, tote and light cardigan finish it.
28. Crop Top And Hoodie Outfit

A zip hoodie is the most adjustable layer in this post: zip it up for a cold room, open it when the sun comes out. Wear the crop under it with high-waisted jeans, cargos, joggers, or leggings if your school allows them. I keep the crop fitted when the hoodie is oversized, otherwise the whole outfit turns into one big shape. Sneakers, crew socks and a backpack are all it takes. It's the outfit I'd suggest for students who are still testing how comfortable they feel in a crop.
29. Crop Top And Utility Jacket Outfit

A utility jacket brings structure and pockets in one piece. Start with a fitted crop tee or tank, then high-waisted jeans, cargos or twill trousers, and add an olive, tan or black jacket. Cotton twill jackets soften with washing but can shrink in a hot dryer, so I'd hang this one to dry. Sneakers or flat boots fit the practical mood. A canvas backpack and a plain watch are enough. The jacket gives enough coverage to make the crop feel appropriate in most classrooms.
30. Crop Top And Tennis Skirt Outfit

A crop top and tennis skirt outfit belongs to the warm first weeks of the term. Pick a high-waisted tennis skirt in white, black, navy or a soft pastel, ideally one with shorts built in so you aren't adjusting it between classes. Pair it with a cropped polo, fitted baby tee or ribbed crop tank, then crew socks and sneakers. White pleats show every pen mark, so I'd keep a white one for days without art class. A zip hoodie or varsity jacket adds coverage when needed.
31. Crop Top And Barrel Jeans Outfit

Barrel jeans curve out at the knee and taper back in at the ankle, so I treat the leg as the statement and keep everything else quiet. A fitted crop tee, cropped tank or slim long-sleeve works best. The hem should land at or just above the ankle bone; longer than that and the curve collapses into a pile above the shoe. Flat sneakers, loafers or simple clogs, plus a cropped cardigan or bomber, keep the proportions balanced. Use simple colors and very little jewelry.
32. Crop Top And Cropped Sweater Outfit

Layering a longer crop tank or fitted tee under a cropped sweater gives you two hems, which adds coverage and a bit of visual interest. Add high-waisted jeans, trousers or a maxi skirt. Cream, gray, navy, chocolate and sage make an easy fall palette. Chunky knits look bulky on top of a short torso, so I'd go for a mid-weight knit if you're petite. Sneakers, loafers or flat boots, a tote and a hair clip are enough.
33. Crop Top And White Jeans Outfit

White jeans feel bright for late summer and the first weeks of fall. High-waisted white straight or wide legs go with almost any crop: a striped tee, a pastel tank, a black fitted top or a soft knit. I always check white denim for see-through pockets in daylight before wearing it to school, and I'd bring a stain pen in your bag. Neutral sneakers, a tan belt and a denim jacket or cardigan finish it. Choose a washable tote, because dark canvas bags can rub color onto the hip.
34. Crop Top And Graphic Tee Outfit

A cropped graphic tee is the fastest way to show what you're into. I keep the bottoms plain when the graphic is loud: high-waisted jeans, cargos or a denim skirt. Vintage-style prints, school colors, sports logos and art prints all work. Screen-printed graphics crack in a hot dryer, so wash the tee inside out and hang it. Add sneakers, a backpack and a light jacket or flannel. If the tee is very short, layer a longer tank underneath.
35. Crop Top And Slip Skirt Outfit

A slip skirt is softer and more grown-up than denim, which is why I reach for it on days when a college student wants something easy but a touch dressier. Choose a high-waisted midi in black, cream, olive or soft blue. Satin clings with static and shows every line underneath, so I'd wear a smooth slip or light shorts under it. Pair it with a fitted crop tee or cropped cardigan and sneakers rather than heels. A denim jacket or oversized button-down keeps it relaxed enough for class.
36. Crop Top And Striped Pants Outfit

Striped pants let you wear pattern without looking overdone. Pick a high-waisted pair with a relaxed or straight leg and a plain crop in one color from the stripes. Vertical stripes lengthen the leg, which helps if you're petite; thin stripes read classic, wide ones bolder. Add sneakers, a simple tote and a light cardigan or denim jacket. I'd keep jewelry minimal so the pants stay the focus.
37. Crop Top And Black Jeans Outfit

Black high-waisted jeans go with nearly every crop in this list, from white ribbed tanks to graphic tees and striped long sleeves. Straight, wide or baggy legs all look current. White sneakers give contrast; black ones make a clean monochrome line. Black denim fades with every hot wash, so I wash it cold and inside out to keep the color deep. A denim jacket, bomber or cardigan adds coverage, and small silver jewelry and a plain backpack are enough.
38. Crop Top And Knit Pants Outfit

Knit pants feel like loungewear but look coordinated when the texture is visible. I'd look for high-waisted pants in a straight or wide leg and pair them with a matching or contrasting crop; ribbed textures look most intentional. Cheaper knit pants bag out at the knees after a few hours of sitting, so check the fabric has some recovery when you stretch it in the store. Cream, gray, mocha or black keep it polished. Clean sneakers, a light cardigan and a tote finish it.
39. Crop Top And Bomber Jacket Outfit

A bomber's ribbed hem stops at the waist, so it pairs naturally with a high-rise bottom and a short top. I start with a fitted crop and high-waisted jeans, cargos or a denim skirt, then a bomber in black, olive, navy, cream or a varsity-style color. Because a bomber puffs out at the back and sleeves, slim or structured bottoms keep the shape cleaner. Retro or chunky sneakers, a small backpack, a cap and crew socks are plenty for class and hanging out afterward.
40. Crop Top And Linen Pants Outfit

Linen is the fabric I'd choose for the hottest first weeks back. High-waisted linen or linen-blend pants breathe and dry quickly, but pure linen wrinkles the moment you sit, so a blend with cotton or viscose holds up better through a full school day. Pair them with a fitted crop tank, short-sleeve crop tee or cropped button-front top. Flat sandals if allowed, clean sneakers if not. White, beige, tan, olive and pale blue keep you cool; a light cardigan or shirt handles the air conditioning.
41. Crop Top And Chino Pants Outfit

Chinos sit between joggers and trousers, which is exactly why they're useful. High-waisted pairs in khaki, navy, olive or cream suit fitted crop tees, cropped polos and ribbed tanks. I'd check the rise in the mirror while seated; chinos with a short rise drop at the back when you sit. Loafers, sneakers or Mary Janes, plus a belt and a tote, give it a slightly preppy finish. A cardigan or button-down over the top adds coverage.
42. Crop Top And Puffer Vest Outfit

A puffer vest keeps your core warm while leaving your arms free, which is handy on fall mornings that warm up by lunch. Wear a long-sleeve crop or fitted crop tee with high-waisted jeans or cargos, or leggings under a tunic-length layer if needed. Cream, black, olive or brown vests go with nearly everything. Vests can feel bulky under backpack straps, so I'd pick a slimmer, lightly filled one for school. Sneakers or flat boots, a beanie and small studs finish it.
43. Crop Top And Paperbag Pants Outfit

Paperbag pants gather at a high waist with a tie or belt, so they meet a crop top naturally. The ruffle adds bulk right at the stomach, which some people love and others don't; if you'd rather not add volume there, I'd pick a flat-front trouser instead. Choose cotton, twill or a light suiting fabric for school. Keep the top plain and fitted so the gathered waist stays visible, and add flat sandals, sneakers or loafers. A cropped cardigan or denim jacket adds warmth without covering the waist.
44. Crop Top And Quilted Jacket Outfit

A quilted jacket gives warmth and texture without the bulk of a full puffer. I'd start with a plain crop tee or long-sleeve crop, then high-waisted jeans, corduroy pants, or a denim skirt with tights. Olive, cream, navy and tan quilting all look neat. The stitching holds the filling in place, so it keeps its shape under a backpack better than a loose puffer does. Sneakers, flat boots or loafers, a canvas tote and a claw clip keep it relaxed for chilly mornings and library days.
45. Crop Top And Skater Skirt Outfit

A crop top and skater skirt outfit has movement built in, since the circle cut flares out from the waist. That same cut flips up in wind, so I'd always wear bike shorts underneath for school. Pick a high-waisted skater skirt in black, gray, denim or plaid with a fitted crop or cropped polo, then sneakers or Mary Janes. A cardigan, varsity jacket or oversized sweatshirt adds coverage. A backpack, hair clip and small earrings are all it needs.
46. Crop Top And Mom Jeans Outfit

Mom jeans are a classic that already sits in most closets. High-waisted mom jeans give structure at the waist with a looser leg, so they flatter a crop without effort on your part. I'd pair them with a ribbed crop tank, baby tee or cropped long-sleeve, then white sneakers, a belt and an oversized flannel or cardigan. Rigid cotton mom jeans give a little at the waist after a few wears, so buy them snug rather than loose. Light wash is casual; dark wash looks cleaner for class.
47. Crop Top And Gingham Pants Outfit

Gingham gives pattern without loud prints. Small checks read almost as a solid color from a distance, while larger checks look bolder, so I choose the scale based on how much attention you want on the pants. High-waisted pairs in black and white, navy and white, or brown and cream all work with a plain crop, cropped cardigan or fitted tee. Add sneakers or loafers and a simple tote. A denim jacket makes it casual; a cardigan softens it.
48. Crop Top And Layered Tank Outfit

Layering a full-length tank under a crop is the trick I recommend most for strict dress codes, because you get the cropped line without showing skin. Start with a fitted tank or cami, then a cropped tee, crop sweater or open crop button-up over it. Pair it with high-waisted jeans, cargos, trousers or a skirt. Ribbed tanks ride up less than smooth jersey ones, so they stay tucked longer. Tonal layers like white and cream, gray and black, or baby blue and navy look clean.
49. Crop Top And Midi Skirt Outfit

A midi skirt is polished without being fussy, and it moves well when you walk. Choose a high-waisted cotton, denim, knit or pleated midi and pair it with a fitted crop, cropped tee or cropped cardigan. I check where the hem lands against the shoe: mid-calf with sneakers looks deliberate, while a hem that hits the widest part of the calf can make legs look heavier. Sneakers keep it casual, loafers make it academic. A light jacket or button-down adds coverage during class.
50. Crop Top And Sneakers Outfit

Almost every look in this post comes back to a crop top and sneakers, because that pairing is the foundation of school dressing. Pick your favorite crop, then choose the bottom to suit the day: jeans for regular class, cargos for streetwear, a skirt for something softer, trousers for presentations. Sneakers handle stairs and long walks between buildings. I'd buy new pairs a couple of weeks before term so they're broken in by day one. Once you know your best top, bottom and sneaker trio, mornings get much faster.
Dress Code Fixes That Keep the Cropped Shape
Many schools have a no-exposed-midriff rule, and some apply the fingertip test to skirts and shorts. I don't treat that as a reason to give up crops. I treat it as a layering problem. A fitted tank tucked into the waistband under a cropped tee keeps the cropped silhouette while covering skin completely. An open shirt or cardigan covers you in a second if a teacher asks, and you can keep it in your bag.
For skirts, bike shorts or built-in shorts are what I insist on, because a skirt that passes the rule standing up can ride up on a bench or a staircase. If the rule says straps must be a certain width, a cropped tee is safer than a cropped cami.
Washing Ribbed Crops So the Hem Stays Flat
Most cheap crops are cotton with a little spandex, and heat is what ruins them. The stretch fibers relax in a hot dryer, the hem starts to ripple, and a raw-edge hem rolls up. I wash crops cold, inside out, and lay them flat or hang them over a rack. Reshape the hem with your hands while it's damp. White crops yellow at the underarms over time, so wash them after each wear instead of saving them for a big load. Treat them this way and a good crop will last for more than a single term.
A Week of Class Days From a Few Good Crops
Every crop top outfit in this list depends on the same three things: a high waistband that meets the hem, shoes you can walk in, and a layer you can add or remove. High-waisted jeans, trousers, skirts, cargos and joggers all do the job; flannels, cardigans, denim and varsity jackets and button-downs cover you when the classroom is cold or the rules are strict. Check your school's dress code and your own comfort before you buy anything new. Get those proportions right once and a few crops will carry you through the whole term.
