League of Legends has more than 170 champions and a long list of alternate skins, from pop-star outfits to magical-girl uniforms and full fantasy armour. That range is good news if you're dressing for a convention, a gaming night or a costume party, because there's a champion for nearly any budget and skill level. Each look below covers the base outfit, the wig or hair, makeup, accessories and shoes. I've kept the props small and soft, and pointed out where thrifted clothes, foam, fabric paint and simple handmade pieces can stand in for a full build. Start with the ones that match the time you actually have.

How Much Building Each Champion Takes
These thirty looks are not equal in effort, and the photos don't always show that. Before you pick, be honest about how many evenings you have and how much foam you want to cut. Here's how I'd group them.
- Mostly closet and thrift: Ezreal, Vi, K/DA Akali, Teemo, Miss Fortune, High Noon Ashe. You're shopping and styling more than making, with one or two small handmade pieces.
- Some sewing or crafting: Jinx, Caitlyn, Katarina, Yasuo, Sett, Gwen, Seraphine. Expect to alter clothes, add trim or make one signature accessory such as gauntlets, a hat or ruffles.
- Big builds: Ahri's nine tails, Xayah's cape, Leona, Diana, Lux and Viego. These need patterned armour or heavy fabric work, and a few test fittings.
If this is your first cosplay, start in the first group and pick one detail to make yourself. A well-fitted simple costume photographs better than an ambitious one that's held together with tape on the day.
1. Classic Ahri LoL Cosplay

Classic Ahri lives or dies by her tails. The dress is the easy part: a fitted red and white dress with long detached sleeves, gold trim and a flared skirt over opaque safety shorts. Add a long layered black wig with fox ears pinned near the crown. Nine tails get heavy fast, so I make them from stuffed fabric or a light faux fur over polyester fibrefill, never foam blocks, and hang them from a belt rather than the waistband of the dress. Warm red shadow, a winged line, rosy blush and the small cheek markings finish her face. A clear ornament or LED globe makes the blue orb. Sheer tights and red ankle boots finish the outfit.
2. K/DA Ahri LoL Cosplay

K/DA Ahri is the pop-star version, and it's sharper than the original. A shimmering white crop top goes under a structured black and gold jacket, with high-waisted shorts, a decorative belt and fitted thigh-high stockings. The platinum wig wants loose waves and small metallic fox ears. For the tails, iridescent organza or thin clear plastic sheeting catches the light and weighs very little. Sharp liner, glowing skin, champagne shadow and a berry lip suit the stage look, with crystal earrings and a headset microphone. Heeled ankle boots are accurate. On a hard convention floor I'd switch to platform sneakers, which keep the height and save your feet.
3. Classic Jinx LoL Cosplay

Jinx needs no armour, just colour and attitude. A cropped black top, bright pink shorts, striped tights and a few belts slung loose at the hips are the base, with fingerless gloves and a small waist pouch painted with her scribbled symbols. The wig matters most: extra-long blue hair in two thick braids. Those braids get heavy and swing into everything, so I tack the ends to the back of the belt with a safety pin and they stop pulling at the wig cap. Vivid pink shadow and strong brows keep the face clean and fun. A blue monkey charm or a graffiti cardboard sign is a safe photo prop, and flat lace-up boots with padded socks get you through the day.
4. Star Guardian Jinx LoL Cosplay

Star Guardian Jinx swaps the punk edge for a magical-girl uniform. Build it on a white fitted top with blue, red and gold panels, then a layered short skirt over opaque shorts and mismatched thigh-high stockings. The twin blue braids stay, now finished with red ribbon or star clips. Cheerful graphic makeup works best here: blue liner, pink blush, a little sparkle and a glossy lip. Carry a small foam or plush star mascot instead of anything big. White gloves and gold jewellery add polish. Platform boots look right, though supportive sneakers with removable boot cuffs are kinder on a long day, and the cuffs hide the laces.
5. Vi LoL Cosplay

Vi looks tough and comes together mostly from regular clothes. A cropped red jacket over a black fitted top, with striped or distressed-look pants that have no sharp hardware, gives you the street-fighter base. Add a wide utility belt, suspenders and soft knee pads. The short pink wig gets one side swept up and the other left messy; a strong-hold hairspray on synthetic fibre holds the lift if you spray it, then let it dry before touching. Smoky plum shadow, heavy brows and a small cheek mark give her the scowl. Her huge gauntlets are the point. Make them as padded glove covers from light foam over fingerless gloves, which keeps them soft in a crowd. Sturdy combat boots with cushioned insoles finish her.
6. Caitlyn LoL Cosplay

Caitlyn is the tailored one, with a steampunk feel. Wear a navy fitted dress or long coat with purple panels, gold piping and a high white collar, plus opaque tights, wrist-length gloves and a structured belt with small pouches. A long dark-purple wig can stay straight or turn under at the ends. Her small navy hat sits on top, trimmed with ribbon, metallic edging and a feather. I attach a mini hat with a wide comb sewn under the brim and an elastic behind the ears, because a hat that small has nothing else to hold it. Keep the makeup neat: defined brows, violet shadow, a winged line and a muted rose lip. A gold sheriff badge and a pocket notebook stand in for her rifle. Low navy boots, or black boots with purple covers, finish it.
7. Classic Lux LoL Cosplay

Classic Lux gives you bright armour without the weight. A blue fitted tunic or dress goes over white leggings and a long-sleeved white top. The silver and gold shoulder pieces, chest plate and cuffs come from thin EVA foam sealed with a flexible paint. Thin foam matters here; anything thicker than a couple of millimetres on the chest stops you bending forward to pick something up. A long golden-blonde wig with side-swept bangs, luminous skin, peach blush, light gold shadow and a soft pink lip suit her. Skip the wand and make a small glowing emblem from clear plastic and battery LEDs. Blue gloves, a narrow gold headband and white knee-high boots with removable blue and gold foam panels finish the look.
8. Elementalist Lux LoL Cosplay

Elementalist Lux has ten forms, so pick one before you shop. The light form is the easiest to sew: a white sleeveless dress, gold waist armour, sheer flowing panels and pale blue accents. Sheer panels fray badly at cut edges, so finish them with a narrow rolled hem or a quick pass of fray stopper before you wear them. Add light gold shoulder pieces and a crystal pendant at the neck. Style a long blonde wig in loose waves with small braids at the face. Pearl shadow, gold liner, pink blush and a little shimmer on the cheekbones suit her. A clear acrylic orb or glowing crystal, a delicate gold headpiece, white tights and low white boots trimmed in gold finish it.
9. Classic Miss Fortune LoL Cosplay

Miss Fortune's classic pirate look comes almost straight off a thrift rail. Start with a white ruffled blouse, a fitted black vest, red shorts or a knee-length layered skirt and a long red coat trimmed in gold. Add a wide belt, opaque thigh-highs and decorative cuffs. Curl a long red wig loosely and set the big black pirate hat on top. I sew two wig clips inside the hat band, otherwise a brim that wide catches every draught and lifts. Warm bronze shadow, a winged line, defined brows and classic red lips suit her. Leave the pistols at home: a coin pouch, a compass and a rolled map tell the story. Gold jewellery and low-heeled over-the-knee boots with good insoles finish it.
10. Star Guardian Miss Fortune LoL Cosplay

Star Guardian Miss Fortune turns the pirate into a magical hero in red, orange and white. Wear a fitted white bodice with red panels, a short layered skirt over safety shorts and a large orange bow at the waist. Fabric paint or adhesive foam handles the gold trim and small stars. That big bow will droop by evening unless it has some body; I back it with a stiff fusible interfacing before tying it. A long red wig in full waves with a star clip at one temple, coral shadow, a sharp line, warm blush and a glossy red lip suit her. A small plush mascot or a light-up star compact works in the hand. White gloves, orange wrist ribbons and red or white knee-high boots finish the outfit.
11. K/DA Akali LoL Cosplay

K/DA Akali is streetwear, which makes her one of the comfiest champions here. Combine a cropped white top, black shorts, a purple and gold bomber jacket, patterned leggings and a wide utility belt. Reflective tape stands in for the glowing graphics, no wiring needed. It shows up brightest under camera flash, so put it where the strongest lines are on the jacket and the leggings. Wear a dark chin-length bob wig with blue or teal ends, a black cap, hoop earrings and a fabric face mask you can pull down to talk and eat. Crisp brows, purple liner, highlighted cheeks and a neutral lip keep the face simple. A handheld mic, a spray-can style pouch and high-tops or flat boots finish her.
12. K/DA Evelynn LoL Cosplay

K/DA Evelynn is the glamorous pick for an evening event. Start with a fitted black bodysuit under a purple metallic jacket with pointed shoulders and a faux-fur collar, then add patterned tights, silver jewellery and a crystal belt. The long lilac wig has heavy side-swept bangs and smooth waves. Her makeup is a big part of the look, so go all in: smoky violet shadow, a long liner flick, sculpted cheeks and deep plum lips. Two light translucent ribbon pieces fixed to the back give the trailing effect and move when you walk. I attach them with snaps so they come off before you sit or board a bus. A jewelled mic and thigh-high boots with a block heel or hidden platform finish her.
13. K/DA Kai’Sa LoL Cosplay

K/DA Kai'Sa is dancewear with sharp geometry. Wear a fitted black and silver bodysuit with opaque panels and a high neck, an iridescent cropped jacket, a decorative belt and matching fingerless gloves. Style a long dark-brown or black wig in soft waves with one side pinned behind the ear. Cool purple shadow, silver in the inner corners, a sharp line and a nude lip suit her. The crystal shoulder pieces come from clear plastic, and size is the decision that matters. Big crystals look great in photos and catch on people in every doorway, so I keep them roughly the width of the shoulder itself. Geometric earrings, a headset mic and ankle boots with purple trim and bendy soles finish the look.
14. Classic Ashe LoL Cosplay

Classic Ashe is the covered-up option, good for a cold night or anyone who prefers more fabric. A deep blue hooded dress or tunic goes over fitted navy leggings and a long-sleeved base, with silver foam armour at the shoulders, waist, forearms and knees. Braid a long white wig loosely and tuck it under the pointed blue hood. A hood that has to sit over a wig needs to be cut deeper than normal, or it slides off the back of the head. Silver shadow, blue liner, soft contour and a pale pink lip keep it cold-toned. Carry a snowflake medallion or a resin crystal instead of the bow. Faux-fur edging at the hood and boots, and flat navy knee-highs with removable silver panels, finish her.
15. High Noon Ashe LoL Cosplay

High Noon Ashe takes her into the Wild West, and the bow can stay at home. Wear a fitted white blouse under a structured navy vest, dark pants, a long split coat and a wide decorated belt. Silver shoulder details and turquoise accents come from painted foam or fabric trim. Put the long white wig in a low braid under a broad western hat with a blue band; a low braid gives the hat brim somewhere to rest so it doesn't sit too high. Smoky grey shadow, a clean line, sun-warmed contour and a muted berry lip suit the look. A glowing blue medallion or an old-looking journal works as the prop. Silver jewellery, fingerless gloves and western ankle boots with steady heels finish it.
16. Classic Riven LoL Cosplay

Riven suits anyone who likes rugged, battle-worn outfits and light handmade armour. Start with a sleeveless cream tunic, fitted brown shorts, dark leggings and a wide green sash. Cut the uneven shoulder plate, arm guard and knee armour from thin EVA foam so they still flex. Her one big shoulder plate pulls the tunic sideways all day, so I strap it under the opposite arm with wide elastic instead of relying on the neckline. A short white wig teased upward with an uneven fringe, strong brows and a hint of green shadow give her a focused look. Green fabric strips at the arm and waist move as you walk. A small rune medallion replaces the broken sword, and brown lace-up boots with ankle armour finish it.
17. Classic Katarina LoL Cosplay

Katarina is sleek and dangerous, and she works without a single blade. Wear a fitted black sleeveless top, dark pants, knee guards and a cropped leather-look vest, then add silver buckles, red panels and light foam shoulder pieces. Everyone spots her long, bright red wig with heavy side bangs and lots of volume. I backcomb the crown gently and set it with hairspray, since flat red hair loses her shape. Smoky charcoal shadow, a long liner flick, strong brows and a deep rose lip suit her. A silver belt emblem and a red gem necklace are safe accessories. Fingerless gloves keep your hands free, and flat black knee-high boots let you move fast if you like to pose.
18. Classic Xayah LoL Cosplay

Xayah is a good step up for someone with a few builds behind them. A fitted purple bodysuit or tunic goes under a short feathered cape in crimson, violet and navy, with opaque leggings, a wide belt and soft gold armour at the knees and forearms. A long crimson wig with pointed bangs and light matching ear pieces near the crown handles the hair. Plum shadow, a sharp line, mauve lips and a small mark under each eye finish her face. The cape is the real work. Cut each feather from felt or stiffened fabric and stitch them in overlapping rows onto a base so they hang in layers; glued feathers tend to pop off in the warmth of a crowd. Mount the cape at the shoulders, add fabric feathers on wristbands and purple boots with gold and feather foam trim.
19. Classic Rakan LoL Cosplay

Rakan is theatrical and made for big poses. Start with slim white trousers, a fitted dark top and a cropped red and gold vest that leaves your arms free. The feathered cape across the shoulders comes from light organza, faux feathers and soft fabric. Keep it short enough to clear the backs of your knees, so you can still crouch and kneel for photos. A short blond wig with a bold red section swept up from the front, plus pointed ears, gives the fantasy look. Gold shadow, clean contour, defined brows and a warm neutral lip are enough makeup for the stage. A gold pendant or decorative fan works as a prop, with red or white ankle boots trimmed in gold.
20. Classic Ezreal LoL Cosplay

Classic Ezreal is a good first cosplay because it's basically adventure clothing. Wear slim brown pants, a cream shirt, a cropped brown jacket and a bright blue scarf, plus a utility belt, fingerless gloves and a gold foam bracer. Style a short blond wig into messy layers swept up at the front. Natural makeup is fine: light contour, tidy brows and a touch of gold near the eyes. The blue LED gem on the bracer does the magic, and I glue the battery holder to the inside of the bracer where your wrist hides it. A canvas explorer bag holds your phone and keys without breaking character. Brown knee-high boots, or ankle boots with matching covers, finish him.
21. Classic Yasuo LoL Cosplay

Yasuo's look is layered fabric with a worn samurai feel in faded blues. Start with loose navy pants, a sleeveless blue wrap top and a wide rope-style belt, then one light shoulder guard, brown wrist wraps and soft fabric armour on the lower legs. Gather a long black wig into a high ponytail, leaving rough pieces around the face. Strong brows, subtle contour and a muted blue-grey shadow are all the makeup he needs. A small wind-swirl emblem or a bamboo-look flask replaces the sword. Cotton and linen blends breathe, which matters with this many layers indoors. Flat martial-arts shoes or split-toe style boots under navy gaiters finish it.
22. Classic Yone LoL Cosplay

Yone is Yasuo's more structured brother, in red, black and white. Wear fitted dark pants under a layered burgundy waist wrap and an uneven sleeveless top, then add light silver shoulder armour, forearm guards and red cords. The long black wig has red-tinted ends with part of it pulled into a high ponytail. His red and white mask can hang from the belt and go on for photos. Masks block side vision, so I keep it off while walking through a crowd. Red shadow at the outer eyes, defined brows and soft contour keep the face clean. A knotted waist charm and patterned sash add detail, and knee-high boots with red gaiters and cushioned soles finish the look.
23. Classic Sett LoL Cosplay

Sett is mostly fitted clothes and big accessories, so it's a straightforward build. Wear burgundy pants, a black sleeveless top and an open white vest trimmed in faux fur, then a wide gold belt, soft wrist wraps and light metallic shoulder accents. Style a short pink wig upward with longer pointed pieces at the sides for his half-beast features. Strong brows, warm contour and a little red around the eyes do the face. His fists are the signature, and padded gold glove covers make them big without making them hard. Faux fur sheds on everything, so give the vest a good shake outdoors and run a lint roller over it before you dress. Stretchy fabrics, dark lace-up boots with gold cuffs and good insoles finish him.
24. Classic Viego LoL Cosplay

Viego is about tailoring, pale colour and silver that looks a little ruined. Wear slim black pants with a deep green vest, an open cropped jacket and silver armour panels at the shoulders and waist. A pale mint or white wig cut into messy medium-length layers frames the face. His glowing chest emblem comes from clear green plastic fixed over a fully covered fitted top. A dry brush of black paint over the silver, wiped back quickly, gives the tarnished look. Cool contour, smoky green shadow and a muted lip make him look slightly unwell, which is the idea. A silver crown, an ornate belt chain, green gem rings and black knee-high boots with removable silver trim finish it.
25. Classic Seraphine LoL Cosplay

Seraphine is pastel pop, all sparkle and soft colour. Start with an iridescent crop top, a short layered blue and pink skirt over shorts and sheer sleeves, then add silver stars, a crystal belt and matching cuffs. The long pink wig fades to blue at the ends; if you can't find an ombre wig, a pink one with blue clip-in pieces at the ends gets close. Soft waves and small clips at the crown finish the hair. Pink shadow, blue liner, glowing blush and a glossy lip suit her. A glittery mic or a music-note purse does as the prop. Glitter sheds onto everyone near you, so seal any glitter pieces with a clear coat first. Platform sneakers with removable silver covers keep the pop-star height without heels.
26. Classic Sona LoL Cosplay

Classic Sona is flowing and elegant in blue. Wear a long blue dress or tunic with white side panels, gold trim and fitted detached sleeves. If a floor-length skirt feels awkward on stairs and escalators, wear wide blue pants under shorter draped panels instead. Style a long teal wig straight, with two sections pulled back from the face. Cool blue shadow, a fine line, soft pink blush and a glossy neutral lip suit her. Gold hair ornaments and a blue gem necklace add detail. Her instrument is the biggest prop in the game, so skip it and carry a small decorated music book or a light note-shaped accessory. Blue flats, low boots or hidden sneakers under the hem finish the look.
27. Classic Leona LoL Cosplay

Leona is the one for confident foam crafters. Start with a fitted brown tunic and leggings, then layer gold armour at the chest, shoulders, wrists and knees. Use thin EVA foam and attach every piece with elastic straps, not glue to the tunic, so the armour moves separately from the clothes. Heat-shape the chest plate before you prime it; it should curve around the ribs, not sit flat. A long reddish-brown wig in loose waves with a gold band across the forehead, bronze shadow, warm contour and a terracotta lip suit her. A round foam sun emblem replaces the shield and sword. Pin the red cape under the shoulder armour, and finish with brown knee-high boots under flexible gold greaves.
28. Classic Diana LoL Cosplay

Diana is Leona's opposite, cool silver against warm gold, so the two make a strong pair. Start with a fitted navy or black bodysuit under silver chest armour and flowing pale-blue waist panels, then matching shoulder pieces, bracers and knee guards in flexible foam. A long white wig, straight with a full fringe, holds the crescent headpiece. Apply lavender-grey shadow, a sharp line, cool contour and the small crescent on the forehead; set that mark with powder, since a forehead under a wig fringe gets warm. Silver earrings and a moon pendant finish the theme. I'd use reflective fabric sparingly, because large areas of it blow out to white in flash photos. Navy tights and comfortable shoes under silver armoured covers finish her.
29. Classic Gwen LoL Cosplay

Gwen is a living doll, all ruffles, bows and bright blue. Wear a fitted navy bodice with white puff sleeves, a layered short skirt over shorts and striped thigh-high stockings. Pale-blue ruffles run along the neckline and hem, with a large structured bow at the back. Her twin curls need shape, so I pin the curls up before the event with a little hairspray rather than heat-curling a synthetic wig that isn't heat-safe. Add a side braid and a hair clip. A porcelain-looking base, round rosy blush, blue shadow and glossy pink lips make the doll face. A fabric spool, tape measure or oversized button replaces her scissors. White gloves and navy platforms or low boots trimmed in blue ribbon finish it.
30. Classic Teemo LoL Cosplay

Teemo works for adults, teens or kids, and it's comfortable all day. Start with tan shorts, a green vest, a cream shirt and brown leggings or tights, then add a red neck scarf, fingerless gloves and a small backpack covered in colourful faux mushrooms. Tuck a short brown wig under a green scout hat with red goggles and soft animal ears at the sides. Warm brown shadow, rosy cheeks and a few drawn-on freckles keep the face cheerful. For kids, I'd sew the ears to the hat rather than glue them, since little hands pull at everything. A rolled map, a compass or a plush mushroom does as the prop. Brown fur shoe covers over basic sneakers make his furry boots, and the whole thing stays light enough for a long day.
Attaching Tails, Capes and Feathers Securely
Ahri's tails, Xayah's cape, Rakan's feathers and Evelynn's ribbons all hang off the body, and anything that hangs gets stepped on, sat on and snagged. What usually fails is the attachment, not the piece itself, so I put more thought into how it fastens than how it looks.
- Hang weight from a separate belt or harness under the costume, not from the dress or waistband. Fabric alone sags and pulls the hem crooked.
- Spread the load. One big safety pin rips through thin fabric; a strip of wide elastic or webbing stitched across two or three points holds.
- Make big pieces removable with snaps, hooks or strong hook-and-loop tape, so you can take them off to sit, eat or travel.
- Keep anything trailing above the backs of your knees in crowds. Longer capes are lovely for photos and get trodden on in queues.
- Pack a small repair kit: safety pins, a needle and thread in the costume's main colour, a few cable ties and a strip of double-sided tape.
Test it by walking around the house, sitting in a chair and going up a flight of stairs in the full costume. If something shifts there, it will fall off by the afternoon of the event.
Which Champion Will You Build This Season?
From Ezreal's adventure clothes to K/DA stagewear and Leona's armour, there's a champion here for nearly every skill level. My advice is to pick by colours and personality you actually like, not by what's popular, because you'll spend hours with it. Light foam, breathable base layers, a wig that's pinned well and shoes you've walked in make even a big build easier to wear. Put everything on a week ahead and practise sitting, climbing stairs and holding your poses. Fabric paint, removable armour, thrifted pieces and small lights can simplify the hard parts. Treat each design as your own fan take and adjust it for your body, your skills, your budget and your comfort.
