The Kardashian-Jenner family has handed Halloween a deep bench of looks, and most of them are easier to copy than they seem. What carries them is never the designer label. It's a few loud signals: a body-skimming silhouette, one very specific hairstyle, sculpted makeup and a single color repeated from head to toe. When I style one of these, I pick one era or one sister and copy her proportions before I buy a thing. Some ideas below need a fitted gown and a properly set wig; others come straight out of a closet with sunglasses and a pose, and the last two are built for a whole group of sisters.

The Wig Decides Whether It Reads as Kardashian
Nearly every look below hangs on hair: Kris's pixie, Kim's sleek center part, Kylie's teal and pink, Khloe's high blonde ponytail. A cheap synthetic wig straight out of the bag is too thick, too shiny, and has a hairline that sits like a helmet. That, more than the clothes, is what gives a costume away up close.
Fixing a Bargain Wig the Week Before
- Set it on a foam head or a rolled towel and brush from the ends upward with a wide-tooth comb. Synthetic fiber knots if you drag it from the root.
- Thin it if it looks bulky by snipping into the lengths with the scissors held vertically, a little at a time, instead of cutting straight across.
- Cut the shine with a light dusting of dry shampoo or baby powder, then brush it through. Bright pinks and teals need this most.
- Keep your curling iron away unless the label says heat-friendly; ordinary synthetic fiber frizzes or melts.
- Pin it over a wig cap at the nape and behind each ear, then shake your head hard in front of a mirror. If it shifts, add pins.
For the center-part looks, I tweeze a few fibers out along the part so a little of the cap shows through like scalp. It looks far more like real hair in photos. If you'd rather use your own hair, a sleek style needs smoothing cream, a fine-tooth comb and a flat iron, and a ponytail extension clips neatly over an elastic.
1. Kim Kardashian Black Met Gala Costume

The all-black Met Gala look is about coverage, with nothing on show but the outline. I build it on a long-sleeve bodysuit or fitted dress with a floor-length skirt over it, then add opaque tights, pointed ankle boots and elbow-length gloves so no skin breaks the black. The face covering is where people get into trouble. Use a stretch mesh or thin jersey you can see and breathe through, and try it walking down stairs before the night, because a covering narrows your view more than you expect. A long ponytail extension clipped behind it gives the famous silhouette. Makeup barely matters here; neat brows are enough.
2. Kim Kardashian Wet Look Met Gala Costume

The wet-look gown reads from the hair first and the dress second. A nude long-sleeve stretch dress covered in clear rhinestones, beading or crystal fringe gets you close without chasing the exact design, and skin-tone leggings underneath add coverage and warmth. For the hair, I comb gel through damp waist-length hair (or a long dark wig) with a center part and let it set; actually soaking it just drips down the back of the dress. Clear or nude heels, bronzed skin and a glossy lip finish it. Leave the bag at home. Beaded fringe snags on chair backs, so this one suits a standing indoor party better than a long dinner.
3. Kim Kardashian Floral Maternity Costume

For a pregnant guest, the floral gown is one of the kindest costumes here because the print does all the talking. Look for a long, high-neck stretch maxi with big red, pink, cream and green flowers; a floral robe over a fitted dress gets you there too. I cover cheap opera gloves with fabric flowers using a few hand stitches, since hot glue pops off the moment the glove stretches over your hand. Wear block heels or flats, whichever your feet will thank you for at ten o'clock. Smooth hair into a center-parted ponytail, add plum lipstick and keep jewelry tiny.
4. Kim Kardashian Crystal Hollywood Costume

Old-Hollywood Kim means silver sequins and platinum waves, and the wig is the part worth spending on. I look for a lined sequin gown with a high neck and some stretch, because unlined sequins scratch the inside of your arms all night. A silver midi with rhinestone tights is the practical swap if a floor-length hem worries you. A shoulder-length platinum wig in vintage curls gives the screen-star finish; most synthetic fiber frizzes or melts under a hot iron, so set those curls with foam rollers instead. Red lipstick, lashes and closed-toe silver pumps come next. A white faux-fur wrap keeps you warm, but drape it loosely so it doesn't swallow the shape.
5. Kim Kardashian Purple Reality TV Costume

This is early reality-TV Kim, and nearly all of it can come off a thrift rack. Find a knee-length purple bodycon dress, wear smoothing shorts underneath if you like, and add black platform pumps or heeled boots. The hair needs real lift at the crown, so I tease the roots before curling, not after, or the curls drop flat within an hour. Late-2000s makeup means smoky eyes, heavy lashes, bronzed cheeks and pale pink gloss. Then pile on the period pieces: big hoops, a wide waist belt, a large black handbag and oversized sunglasses, with a toy microphone in hand.
6. Kim Kardashian Yellow Tape Fashion Costume

The yellow-tape look is a fun build, and the whole trick is never letting tape touch you. I start with a black turtleneck, leggings, gloves and ankle boots, then wrap strips of yellow fabric or removable paper tape over that base at crossing angles. Fabric strips safety-pinned or tacked at the ends last far longer than tape, which lifts at elbows and knees after an hour of moving. Keep strong adhesive away from skin, hair and delicate clothes, and leave slack at the hips so you can sit. A small box covered in yellow fabric becomes the handbag. The black base underneath keeps you decent when the wrapping starts to loosen.
7. Kim Kardashian Neutral Athleisure Costume

Neutral athleisure Kim is the closet costume of the bunch. High-waisted beige leggings, a matching fitted top and an oversized taupe hoodie or puffer make the base, with chunky neutral sneakers and ribbed socks. The tones need to match more closely than you'd think; a gray hoodie over beige leggings just reads as gym clothes. Smooth, center-parted hair, cream contour and nude gloss do the beauty side, and big black sunglasses with a structured mini bag do the celebrity part. It's warm, you can walk for miles in it, and it's what I'd wear to hand out candy.
8. Kim Kardashian Pink Velour Tracksuit Costume

A bright pink velour tracksuit says early 2000s before anyone sees your face. Get the fitted zip hoodie and matching flared pants, a white tank underneath, and sparkly sneakers or low platforms. Velour crushes and shows every crease where you've been sitting, so I hang it in a steamy bathroom before dressing. Loose curls with the front pinned back in rhinestone barrettes, silver shadow and high-shine pink gloss cover the beauty. Big sunglasses, hoops, a metallic shoulder bag and a flip phone round out the throwback.
9. Kim Kardashian Crying Face Costume

Crying-face Kim is the one I suggest for a last-minute invitation. A black blazer over a neutral top, high-waisted black pants and pumps or ankle boots are the whole outfit. Do full glam first, with contour, false lashes and a nude lip, then dab clear cosmetic gloss under the eyes for the tears. Skip water or glycerine near the lash line; it lifts mascara and you'll be wiping real smudges by midnight. Keep a phone in hand and pull the famous wobbling face whenever a camera comes out. The joke lives in that expression.
10. Kim Kardashian Lost Diamond Earring Costume

The lost-earring scene is a sly reference, so the props have to land it. I'd build it on a turquoise long-sleeve swim-style bodysuit or athletic top with matching leggings, a turquoise sarong at the waist and waterproof slides. Scrunch gel and texture spray through loose waves for the wet hair, and use waterproof mascara. Wear one big costume diamond earring and leave the other ear bare, then carry a clear pouch stuffed with blue tissue paper as the ocean. People get it fastest when you act it out, so look worried and keep scanning the floor. Slides are cold outside in October; save this for an indoor party.
11. Kourtney Kardashian Goth Bride Costume

Kourtney's goth bride is black lace with bridal structure. A fitted black midi with lace sleeves and a modest neckline, sheer tights and platform pumps or sturdy boots make the base. I sew a short black veil to a plain headband rather than relying on combs, because combs slide out of a smooth updo within the hour. Keep the makeup to fresh skin, smoky brown eyes, a cat eye and deep rose lips. Theatrical face paint would turn her into a horror bride instead. A small bouquet of black, white and burgundy silk flowers tied in satin ribbon, plus lace gloves, carries the bridal side.
12. Kourtney Kardashian Punk Rock Costume

Punk Kourtney is leather-look layers over plain black. Tuck a black T-shirt with no graphic into straight faux-leather pants or a pleated black midi skirt, then add a moto jacket and chunky lace-up boots, with patterned tights if you went with the skirt. Faux leather doesn't breathe at all, so in a hot, packed room the skirt version is far more comfortable. Shoulder-length hair goes slightly messy in a center part, with black liner and a berry lip. Silver chains, a studded belt and foam drumsticks give the rock reference without anything that can hurt anyone.
13. Kourtney Kardashian Preppy Y2K Costume

Preppy early-reality Kourtney is the subtle option for someone who hates looking costumed. A white button-down tucked into a pleated black skirt or tailored shorts, opaque tights, platform pumps and a cropped cardigan cover it, with a wide belt cinched the way it was worn then. I check the shirt for gaping at the bust before anything else; a button-down that pulls open looks sloppy rather than polished. Glossy curls, soft smoky eyes and pale gloss, then big sunglasses, hoops and a large structured handbag. A shopping bag nods to her business side, and every piece goes back into your wardrobe afterward.
14. Kourtney Kardashian Maternity Met Gala Costume

This floral look nods to both sisters' pregnancy-era gowns, so it pairs well if two of you are going together. Choose a stretchy floor-length floral dress with a high neck and long sleeves, and make sure the blooms are big; small florals blur into mush from across a room. Floral gloves, a smooth low ponytail and plum lipstick tie it back to the red carpet. Block heels or pointed flats, a tiny black clutch and simple studs keep attention on the gown. If you aren't pregnant and want the shape, use soft, light padding you can sit and breathe in, never anything stiff.
15. Khloe Kardashian Leopard Catsuit Costume

Leopard print is Khloe at her loudest. A long-sleeve leopard jumpsuit is easiest; a printed top with matching leggings works only if the two prints are close in scale and color, otherwise they fight each other. Belt the waist in black and add knee-high boots with a stable heel. Blonde hair goes up in a big high ponytail or brushed-out waves, with bronze makeup, gold shadow, lashes and caramel gloss. Hoops and long neutral nails follow. A cat-ear headband and a few brown liner whiskers make the Halloween joke clearer while the makeup stays soft.
16. Khloe Kardashian Denim Glam Costume

Head-to-toe denim Khloe is a smart cold-weather pick because you're covered from wrist to ankle. A fitted denim jumpsuit is simplest. If you mix a chambray shirt with flared jeans, match the wash closely or it looks like two separate outfits. A wide tan belt and pointed nude ankle boots lengthen the line. Put volume at the roots for the blonde waves, then go full glam with contour, lashes, brown smoky eyes and glossy beige lips. Gold hoops, a structured tan bag and long nails finish it, and a pretend TV cue card makes a good prop.
17. Khloe Kardashian Fitness Costume

Fitness Khloe is pure comfort. High-waisted black leggings, a fitted long-sleeve athletic top and a cropped zip jacket in black, gray or neon, with clean trainers and crew socks. The high blonde ponytail is what makes it hers; if your own hair is dark, a clip-in ponytail is cheaper and much cooler to wear than a full wig. Fresh skin, brows, mascara and bronzer keep the makeup light. A fitness watch, sweatband and water bottle add detail, and a yoga mat on a strap carries more easily than you'd expect. Matching every layer is what stops it looking like your ordinary gym run.
18. Khloe Kardashian Confessional Costume

The confessional look is a jewel-toned dress and very still posing. Pick a fitted emerald, royal blue or burgundy midi with long sleeves and a clean neckline, then add pointed nude pumps, small sparkly studs and one slim bracelet. Deep side-parted waves sit over one shoulder. A matte base matters more here than anywhere else on the list, since shine shows badly in close-up photos, so I set the T-zone with powder before contour goes on. Carry a small name card instead of writing on the dress. For pictures, sit upright and look slightly off-camera, as if a producer just asked you something.
19. Kris Jenner Black Momager Costume

Kris Jenner starts with the short black pixie wig. Get that right and the rest is a sharp black pantsuit with a white satin blouse and pointed black pumps, the trousers hemmed to skim the shoe rather than puddle. A pixie sits high on the head and shows the cap edge far more than a long wig, so I pin it firmly at the nape and behind both ears. Oversized sunglasses, pearl or diamond-style studs and a structured black bag, with soft eyes, rosy blush and neutral lipstick. A phone, a notebook and a toy camera give your hands a job. It suits nearly any age or build, which makes it a natural pick for the mom in a family group.
20. Kris Jenner Red Power Suit Costume

Want a brighter momager? Go for a vivid red pantsuit with a matching blazer and straight-leg trousers, over a black or cream shell, with black heels or polished loafers. The black pixie wig does the identifying. Match the red lipstick to the suit's undertone; an orange-red lip against a blue-red suit looks wrong in every photo. Gold earrings, a black top-handle bag and sunglasses, with a tablet or headset as the prop. On a cold night, a thin black turtleneck under the blazer keeps the line clean, and that red pops in a group shot.
21. Kris Jenner Proud Mom Costume

Proud-mom Kris is a performance more than an outfit. A black blazer over a white blouse, slim black trousers and pointed flats come straight from most closets. Add the black pixie wig, sunglasses, sparkly studs and a glossy neutral manicure, with classic makeup and pink lipstick. Then hold a toy camera or a phone sideways as though filming your kids, and cheer loudly for everyone in the room. Flats are the right call because you'll spend the night on your feet hovering over other people's photos. Family parties love this one.
22. Kendall Jenner Orange Feather Gala Costume

Kendall's orange feather look lives or dies on where the feathers go. Start with a fitted orange maxi dress or long-sleeve jumpsuit and add removable feather trim at the shoulders, cuffs or hem. I tack the trim on with a loose running stitch so it comes off for washing; glued feathers shed everywhere once the glue cracks. Keep them away from candles, and know that hem feathers get stepped on in a crowd. Orange or nude heels, a small clutch, a center-parted low bun and peachy nude lips keep the rest clean. Small diamond-style earrings are plenty beside all that plumage.
23. Kendall Jenner Model Off Duty Costume

Model-off-duty Kendall proves plain clothes can still read as a celebrity. Straight-leg jeans, a fitted white tank and an oversized black leather-look blazer, with narrow black sunglasses, a shoulder bag and white sneakers or black loafers. The blazer has to be big on purpose; a fitted one just looks like office wear. Pull hair into a loose center-parted bun and keep makeup to tinted moisturizer, brows, mascara and balm. Hold an unbranded iced drink and walk briskly, as if photographers just spotted you. It's comfortable enough for school events and long nights outside.
24. Kendall Jenner Cowgirl Costume

Kendall's cowgirl takes Western pieces and keeps them neat. A cropped white button-down over a fitted tank, high-waisted blue jeans and lightweight cow-print chaps make the outfit. The red cowboy hat and two long auburn braids are what people notice first, so if you only buy one thing, buy the hat. A wig with the plaits already braided saves you an hour in the mirror. Brown Western boots with a walkable heel and a wide buckle belt go with it. Swap the chaps for cow-print leg warmers over the jeans if sewing chaps sounds like too much, and carry a coil of fabric rope or a plush horse.
25. Kylie Jenner Teal Hair Costume

King Kylie needs the teal hair and not much else. Wear a black mini dress over opaque tights, or a black bodysuit with high-waisted faux-leather pants, plus black lace-up ankle boots and a cropped moto jacket. The wig should be long teal with dark roots. Bright synthetic colors glare under a camera flash, so I dust a little dry shampoo through the lengths to cut the shine. Strong brows, warm contour, winged liner and matte brown lips handle the face. Layered chains, a small black backpack and long square nails finish it, with your phone held up for a mirror selfie.
26. Kylie Jenner Pink Wig Glam Costume

Bright pink hair over an all-white outfit makes a bold, simple Kylie. Wear a fitted white jumpsuit, or a white long-sleeve top with wide-leg pants, plus clear block heels or white ankle boots, a silver mini bag and sparkly earrings. Pick a long pastel-pink wig with a center part and brush it smooth. White is the risky part. Thin white fabric turns see-through in flash photos, so I line it or wear nude underwear, and I keep foundation well away from the neckline. Rosy shadow, lashes, highlighter and matte pink-nude lips, with long pale nails and sunglasses.
27. Kylie Jenner Lavender Red Carpet Costume

Lavender Kylie is the dressiest of her looks. Choose a fitted lavender maxi, or a tailored jumpsuit with a long detachable overskirt, and add light feather trim at the sleeves or shoulders, stitched on firmly. Silver heels, crystal earrings and a metallic clutch go with it. Long dark waves keep it close to the red carpet, while a straight lavender wig makes it more playful. Lilac shadow, sculpted cheeks, glossy nude lips and highlighter. Keep everything in one color family from hair to shoes, or it slides into an ordinary party dress. Lift the skirt slightly as you walk so the hem stays clean.
28. Kylie Jenner Makeup Mogul Costume

Makeup-mogul Kylie lets one giant prop do the explaining. A fitted beige blazer with matching high-waisted trousers over a cream bodysuit, nude pumps, a structured mini bag and a long dark ponytail make the outfit. The beauty here is full: precise brows, brown smoky eyes, warm contour, strong lashes and matte nude lips. I make the oversized lipstick from a cardboard tube with a rolled-paper bullet on top, painted with acrylic and a coat of gloss varnish. Keep it short enough to tuck under one arm through a doorway. It's polished enough for an office or school event, which few looks on this list are.
29. Kardashian Sisters Monochrome Group Costume

The monochrome sisters idea lets a group match without wearing the same thing. Each person takes one tone head to toe: a black fitted gown, a beige jumpsuit, a white pantsuit, a chocolate-brown midi, with shoes in their own color. Vary the hair between dark waves, a blonde ponytail, a smooth bun and a colored wig so you read as sisters rather than clones. Everyone gets the same contour, lashes and neutral lip, plus sunglasses and a structured handbag, and that shared beauty is what links you in photos. Stand shoulder to shoulder and don't smile.
30. Kardashian Jenner Family Reunion Costume

For a bigger group, cast each person as one family member and keep their signature obvious. Kim gets a fitted neutral gown with long dark waves. Kourtney wears black lace and a short veil, Khloe leopard with a blonde ponytail. Kris needs the black pantsuit, pixie wig and sunglasses. Kendall takes jeans, a blazer and narrow shades, while Kylie gets a white jumpsuit and a bright wig. I'd hand out roles a few weeks ahead so nobody arrives as a second Kim. Phones, planners, cameras and one makeup prop are enough. Line up red-carpet style with Kris proudly in the middle.
Contour That Lasts Until Midnight and Comes Off After
Full glam is the other half of these costumes, and a warm room full of dancing is hard on it. I'm a stylist, not a makeup artist, but a few everyday habits keep it in place and keep your skin happy.
- Patch-test any new foundation, lash glue or body shimmer on the inside of your wrist a day ahead. Lash glue in particular can sting.
- Set cream contour with translucent powder pressed in with a puff rather than swept on. That pressed layer is what stops cream from sliding on a hot night.
- Carry blotting papers instead of more powder; powder layered over and over goes cakey by the third touch-up.
- Bronzer and body shimmer rub onto white blouses and collars. Let body products dry fully before dressing, and drape a scarf over your face when pulling anything over your head.
- Remove it properly with an oil or balm cleanser first to melt long-wear product and lash glue, then your usual wash. Peel lashes from the outer corner, never by tugging the middle.
Fitted Gowns You Can Actually Sit Down In
Body-skimming shapes run through this whole list, and they're where comfort goes wrong. Before buying, I sit, climb a step and raise both arms in the fitting room. If the dress rides up or a seam strains, three hours at a party will only make it worse.
A floor-length hem has to clear the floor in the exact shoes you'll wear, so try them together and pin it. Stick a strip of fashion tape inside a deep neckline, wear a slip under thin knits to stop static and lumps, and put moleskin on your heels before you leave rather than after the blister. Shapewear smooths the line but runs hot, so shorts-style beats a full bodysuit if you plan to dance. I also keep foldable flats in my bag; the heels come back out for photos.
One Color, One Wig and Plenty of Attitude
None of these needs a designer piece. Stretch basics, thrift-shop tailoring, costume jewelry, a decent wig and a homemade prop will carry almost all of them. The rule I come back to every time is to pick one color and repeat it through clothes, hair, makeup, shoes and bag, because that repetition is what reads as Kardashian from across a room. Think about comfort before you commit to heels, a face covering or a floor-length hem, and do a full try-on a few days early. Then commit to the poses; the attitude finishes even the simplest version.
